Some TRUE information about the Israel/Gaza situation!!!

this post started as an explanation about the israel/hamas/gaza situation for a bunch of people who are spreading false information based on ignorance or rumors, but i just keep seeing more and more posts that just call israel ""the bad guy"" in this situation without hearing the real story and understanding why it's so bad that they keep talking shit about israel for no reason, so i thought i may as well publish this as a post. (i just want to say that i'm sorry in advance for the grammar mistakes that are made in this post. english isn't my native language since i live in israel). this post goes to everyone who doesn't live in israel/gaza, people who do live here but don't know much about everything that's causing this ""war"" or just anyone who wants to learn about this situation. (when i say "situation" or ""war"" i mean the rocket shooting from gaza to israel that's been constantly happening for the past 5 days, and the attacks of the israeli army on the hamas - a terror organization that's currently attacking us from gaza) most of the information from outside of israel/gaza is inaccurate and some of the info from within as well, but you can’t go around blaming “israel” as a whole because a) it’s the GOVERNMENT that makes the decisions and b) we (israeli citizens) are also victims of this situation. we’re only lucky to have a country that protects us from the hamas, which is our emeny in this “war” or whatever you’d like to call it. now, the hamas is a terror organization that currently attacks us from gaza, which is where palestinian citizens are living, and the heads of the hamas who attack as are using citizens as “human shields”: they hide in houses of helpless people and attack from there. what israel is trying to do is to protect itself from the attack by killing the terrorists who fire rockets at us, which is extremely hard to do since the air force has to attack civilized areas. it’s trying to do it without hurting civilians by calling the houses that they’re about to attack and warning them, telling the harmless palestinians to leave their house immediately. this method isn’t the most effective one in the world but it’s all the army has. still, many palestinians get hurt in the process (also by the hamas' rockets that land within gaza), but this situation hurts EVERYONE and the origins to it are complicated and go to about a 100 years ago. there isn’t a simple solution to this mess, but by blaming israel as a whole or just picking sides you’re not helping and even harming both sides - us and the palestinians, from getting to negotiations that will hopefully lead to peace. so please, stop basing your opinions on false information and ignorance and trying to figure out who “the bad guy” is, because the only bad guys in this situation are ignorant, racist people, and they are both palestinians and israeli. if you don't live in israel or gaza, you can understand this situation much better if you just look at the people in this situation as people rather than countries, and understand that you’re seeing it as an observer and you don’t live this battle on your daily basis, from the moment air raid sirens wake you up until you think that the last siren went off and it’s okay to go to bed for a few hours. (a few additional notes: my ask is always open for questions, and if i made a mistake i'd love to learn from it, or hearing about this situation from different points of view. if i offended you in some way ,i'm extremely sorry, and it wasn't my intention. also, i'm sorry for the messiness of this post, i'm editing it on mobile from the safe room in our house, that doesn't have wifi, a laptop or a computer.)
