Jenna Bellview is twenty-eight years old and a barista in Greensville.
Jenna Bellview grew up in a large Christian family, the youngest of five children. The family might have been considered odd by a good portion of Greensville, but they were always quite happy the way they were. They were very tight-knit, and since all the kids were home-schooled, Jenna’s siblings became her best friends. Some might say she lived their shadows, as her siblings were known to lead in song worship at church and volunteered often with the church. They were so close that Jenna didn’t really notice that she was often overlooked by people outside her family until she was older. While she never saw her life as bad, there was a time Jenna strayed from her family and her faith that she regrets more than anything. While many a man has broken her heart over the years, a neighborhood boyfriend she had at 16 lead her down the wrong path. Jenna became dishonest, and was constantly covering for her boyfriend’s criminal activity and his violence against her and others. Eventually, through the intervention of a friend from church, she came back to her family and no longer speaks to her ex. Still, she worries about him forcing his way back into her life. Jenna has grown a lot since her teenage years. Humbled by her experience with her ex, she became gentle, altruistic, and even more committed in her faith. She is very dutiful in all aspects of her life. She’s never late to church, work, or a hang out with a friend. Still, she didn’t grow in all the ways she should have. She is still very eager to please and can sometimes be blindly obedient. Because she is so manipulable, she is sometimes taken advantage of by people with authority. As an adult, she is beginning to establish herself outside of her family, beginning with finally moving out of her sister’s house and into an apartment of her own. It’s the first time she’s ever lived alone, and she’s still struggling to adjust. As all of her older siblings are getting married and starting families of their own, Jenna is feeling like she’s falling behind. Jenna has a degree in music education and is very creative, but she has had trouble finding a job since graduating. She works as a barista and spends most of her free time babysitting her nieces and nephews. She finds ways to slip creative endeavors into her day though - doodles here and there, taking her film camera on her outings with the little ones, and taking her home made holiday decorations very seriously. She wants to keep moving forward with her life, making more art, teaching, falling in love. It all seems so far away, though, that she’s wondering if God is hearing her prayers at all.
