This is the first time Belgium starts among the top favourites to win a tournament ever

It was inevitable for decades that they either didn’t go or went out super early. Which is why almost no Belgian supported the team from 2000-2016/17 (as far as I’m aware, I’m too young to know if the non-support went on even longer before that)

At the World Cup however, they were suddenly promoted to underdogs. They established themselves. There’s a good reason for why they’re in 1st on the FIFA ranking & have been for a good 3 years

Now the whole of Europe think of them as potential winners together with the likes of France - the World Champions - & with damn good reasoning

What the team needs to do is what they’ve always done: work together

What we - the fans - need to do is simple: support it

If they keep doing that & don’t automatically assume things like other favourites have done in the past - & like they did in the friendly against Greece last weekend, they can get very very far
