“Let me into the armory,” I say stoically, standing with my arms crossed in front of Jack.
“No way Amelia, he could be dangerous,” Jack replies.
“You’re forgetting I know things,” I shoot back, trying to be as vague as possible.
Jack matches my stance, “Then tell me who he is.”
I bit my lip and glance towards the armory door. I look back to Jack, “I can’t, not until you let me in.”
“You realize you’re risking all of us by going in there.”
“Jack, I know what I’m doing, please.”
Jack finally let’s down his guard at my plea, and I do the same. He doesn’t speak so I continue, “Has he eaten yet?”
“No not yet, I was going to bring him a sandwich soon,” Jack replies, and I move into the small kitchen and prepare him a sandwich. I think about the irony to come in this situation.
Once I’ve finished with the sandwich I stride to the bookshelves. I peruse them for a moment before picking one out and setting near the plate. Then I get a glass and fill it with water. I turn to Jack who has been watching me silently the whole time.
“Does Sawyer know you’re here?” Jack asks suddenly and I pause.
“Yes, why?” I ask cautiously.
“You two are always together, but now with the button not so much. Did you finally get sick of him?” Jack presses and I feel myself getting annoyed.
“Sawyer knows what I’m doing, he trusts me. If you’ve got a problem with that go deal with it himself. Better yet tell Kate and she’ll sort him out,” I snap and pick up the tray, “Open the door please.”
Jack unlocks the armory and I walk in to see Benjamin Linus tied up on the floor. I turn and nod at Jack and he closes the door behind me. I set the sandwich, water, and book in front of Ben and sit down a little farther away from him.
“Hello Henry,” I begin cheerfully, “I figured you were hungry and in need of entertainment.”
“Oh yes, thank you, you’re so kind,” ‘Henry’ replies in his character voice, “You’re friends are very mean, but you’re kind…?”
“Amelia,” I offer up since only one of us needs to lie about our names.
“You’re too kind Amelia, thank you,” ‘Henry’ says.
“You can drop the act, Benjamin,” I say seriously and Ben’s face falls as soon as I do.
“So you know?” He asks me, all traces of ‘Henry Gale’ dropped.
“Yeah, I do know. I’m going to ask you something too,” I reply and pull the items I gave him just out of his reach.
“Then ask.”
“Your plan with Walt and his father? Call it off right now. I know what you’re going to do and it’s not going to turn out well for us,” I say and Ben regards me curiously but doesn’t speak.
I continue, “I know the willpower of a father and what you’re causing can be avoided if you just listen to me,” I’m practically begging by now.
“I’m not sure what you know, Amelia,” Ben finally says after a pause, “But my plan is already set, you can’t change my mind.”
I stand and shove Linus’ items toward him again, “Then enjoy your stay, Henry,” I split at him and knock at the armory door. Jack’s nervous face appears a few moments later.
Jack ushers me out once he sees I’m not injured in any way and quickly slams the armory door shut after I’m fully out. I cross my arms tightly over my chest and lean against the island in the middle of the kitchen.
“So how did it go?” Jack demands and I look fiercely up at him.
“As well as I could,” I reply harshly, and promptly stride out of the hatch and begin my path down to the beach. I don’t hear Jack calling after me so I just keep going. I’ve got so much to tell Sawyer.
