Camp de Túria is a shire in the Valencian Country. During the Ancient Iberian and Roman times, this area was called Edetania and its capital city was Edeta, which nowadays is called Llíria and is still Camp de Túria’s capital city.
This area has archaeological remains from Iberian and Roman times, Medieval and Renaissance castles, and Baroque churches, among others.
One of the most characteristic events is the Alfàbegues festivity that has been celebrated annually in Bétera for more than 400 years. Its most iconic moment is when people carry huge basil plants around the streets, accompanied by traditional music, to be offered to the Virgin of the Assumption.
