When manufacturers produce hydraulic bending machines and customers to purchase, mold shape, material, design, manufacturing and use is a matter that we all attach great importance to. Bending machine molds mainly use steel with high strength, high toughness, good wear resistance and corrosion resistance as the main material.

According to shape: standard and non-standard upper die
One of most commonly used lower die is quartet die, which has the widest application range. The mold holder can be added under the square lower die. And it can be made into a component section mold, easy to process and make small metal parts. The other is Double V-die: V4-V7, V5-V9, V6-V10, V7-V11, V8-V12, V15-V18 and etc. Also, Single V-die: V4, V5, V6, V7, V8, V10, V12 and etc.
Press Brake Bending Mold Quality Standards
Bending die quality is almost determined by material. The shape and size of the mold are determined by the work piece.
Material requirements are mainly three key points:
Hardness: not easy to deform
Toughness: not easy to break
Abrasive Resistance: not easy to wear
Best material for press brake tooling
The material of bending die is generally 70# steel, T7 steel and T8 steel. Even better is the 42CrMo material. Bending machine die is generally cold rolled die steel. Upper die quenching hardness is to reach 48 ~ 45 ° and lower die is 42°~45°. In general, the upper die is harder than the lower die.
The requirements of the upper die:
The surface hardness is high.
It has good wear resistance.
It is not easy to break the tensile strength.
The thickness of the plate is different; selection of notch is also different.

Note: When the work piece is taken out after bending, the distance between the work piece and molds shall not be less than 300 mm. The pressure should be appropriate to avoid crushing the mold during operation.
Different work piece material because of its own different structure, upper and lower die used is different. The wear resistance, tensile strength, material hardness, tensile coefficient, plasticity and so on of the molds required for processing them is different. Bending mold selection can be based on the pressure of the machine tool, structure, material, work piece size, process requirements, surface treatment and so on.
How to Select Press Brake Toolings?
Each mold has its ultimate pressure (Unit: ton/meter). So in the use of mold, the user should correctly choose the length of the mold, that is, how much pressure to add per meter. Never exceed the pressure indicated on the die.
In order not to damage the mold, we have stipulated that the origin of alignment must be used more than 300mm length of the upper and lower mold for the origin. After the origin is checked, the user can use the upper die and the lower die with the same height. It is forbidden to use split module to check the origin. And the calibration of the origin must be in accordance with the AMADA machine internal pressure of the origin as the standard.
In the use of molds, because the height of the various molds is not consistent, the user can only use the same height of the mold in a machine. Do not use molds of different heights.
Do not use molds to bend steel bars or other cylinders when bending products that are too hard or too thick.
When bending acute Angle or dead Angle, customers should choose more than 30 degrees mold. Fold acute angle first, then crush dead edge.
When bending R angle, you should choose R upper die and R lower die.
When bending a longer work piece, it is best not to use sectional mold, in order to reduce the knife indentation. And you had better choose single groove mold. Because of the single V groove outside angle R is large; it is not easy to produce bending indentation.
Users should choose suitable upper and lower dies according to the hardness, thickness and length of the metal sheet. Generally, the lower die is used according to the standard of 5~6T. The length of the mold should be longer than the sheet metal. When the material of the board is harder and thicker, the user should use the lower die with wider groove.
Before selecting the specific mold, the user should understand the parameters of the mold. According to the required shape of the product, decide what to use for the upper die. Please decide what kind of upper die to use according to the shape of the product processed.
Be clear-minded when using molds to bend. After the machine alignment, the user shall lock the upper and lower molds. Don't let the mold fall and hurt people or the machine. During operation, pay attention to the problem of pressure. Don't put too much pressure on it all at once. Notice the changes in the data displayed on the computer control system screen.
Put the molds back to the frame after use. And put it according to the sign.
Dust the molds frequently. Also, apply the anti-rust oil on the mold to avoid rust in case of reducing the mold precision.
