Former Texas state senator and feminist icon Wendy Davis showed up to our championship bout to accept our first annual “be your own hero award”.
This award was presented by Bendy Davis, a skater who named herself after Wendy several years ago in her honor. In her personal life, Bendy is an advocate for social justice and has dedicated her life to changing the world, not unlike the woman she modeled her persona after.
This was Bendy’s last bout with TXRD. She won; scoring a huge chunk of her teams points for the night.
