First Sight
A crowded club, but the only thing he can hear is the singers voice.
Wordcount: 156
Pairing: Bennoda
His voice was angelic.
He shuffles through the crowded club with sweat pouring down his face. He should've went home but he was entranced. He needed to be closer.
One step closer at a time did he finally get to the front. He can see the band from a perfect view now. And to hear that voice closer.
The fangirls he heard while waiting in line where right, the singer really was beautiful.
Long dreadlocks, beautiful cheek bones and the passion on his face while he sings.
His throat dries up very quickly at the sight of the singer. A slight flush begins to form on his cheeks, although the darkness hides the red tint on his face.
It was when the band changed onto another song that Mike realized that the singer had locked eyes with him, beautiful brown eyes that didn't look away from him until the show ended.
Chester, his name was called.

Chapter 15: A Place for my Head
Summary:
Out there in the forests decisions are being made.
Chapter Text
An unexpected heat hit him.
Mike had already expected that the forest would once again turn against him—that branches would lash rebelliously into his face, scratching his skin and demanding a blood toll for daring to use their home as an escape route. That the trees would throw leaves beneath his feet so he would slip, and thrust roots into his path to coil around his legs and hold him in place for his pursuer, practically serving him up on a silver platter.
But this time, everything was different.
His pursuer was his best friend, who intended to have him committed to a mental institution because Mike had told him that he heard voices, saw images, and could let someone else control his body. And the forest made no attempt to hinder him in any way.
No, it neither obstructed him nor helped him; rather, it gave the impression that it was horrified by what had happened and was quietly mourning while Mike moved unhindered deeper and deeper into its heart.
The branches bent aside defenselessly without snapping back with murderous force. Roots lay buried deep beneath a layer of soft grass, even though he remembered seeing them exposed before. Flowers and the long, thin stems of tall shrubs swayed sadly in the wind as he rushed past, and through the dense crowns of the tall fir trees, sunlight fell to the ground like teardrops, dancing hazily over him whenever the wind rustled lonely through the leaves.
Mike wouldn’t have been surprised if it had started to rain.
Suddenly, he stopped. Panting, his face flushed red, he braced his hands against his sides and looked around in confusion for his hunter, who hadn’t made a sound for some time.
Meaningless darkness surrounded him. There was no sign of Chester. No cracking in the bushes, no more shouting, no threats.
He was gone. And Mike was alone.
Breathing heavily, he glanced around once more, scrutinizing every patch of darkness. Had he really shaken him off? Or had Chester grown tired of the chase and decided it would be better to stop somewhere, pull out his phone, and call for help?
Mike bit his lip.
If that was the case, he needed to get out of here—fast.
