making a piano reduction of Attila Marcel, a song from the soundtrack of The Triplets of Belleville I was obsessed with when it came out––very dark lyrics, sort of an Edith Piaf parody––and I finally got my favorite phrase right
the 4-3 suspension is very very simple and appears in every B part (the song has an AB structure, not verse-bridge-chorus) but this little passage from the finale has been tricky to get the exact feel of. My first attempts were too simple, my next ones too fussy. Anyway HERE IT IS

Ce soir, ciné-concert “Les Triplettes de Belleville”, de Sylvain Chomet. Musiques composées par Benoît Charest. Concert avec la présence du compositeur himself ! (le Québécois dans le coin bas gauche de la photo). Il sera à la guitare principalement.
Moment mémorable ! C'était franchement exceptionnel.
Le film (excellent !) projeté dans son entier sur une toile cinéma derrière l'orchestre, accompagné d'un très bon et grand orchestre pour interpréter des musiques entraînante jazzy des années 20/30. Et les moments chantés par la demoiselle invitaient largement à claquer des doigts en rythme. Vraiment génial.
Le must est l'utilisation d'objets comme dans le film: vrai vélo, journal… Bon pas un frigo mais une substitution montée sur une planche.
Le tout joué et chanté en dansant. Magique.
Merci une fois de plus l'auditorium de Lyon. Grand moment.
