Okay I just did the math and that means that every time Hannibal drives to Quantico and back home, he uses *AT MINIMUM*, *over half of his tank of gas*.

Here’s my justification. We know Hannibal has a Bentley. I’m admittedly not a car person, let alone a luxury car person, but I trust what the internet has to say.

(Your average Bentley, brand new, btw, is in the $200,000s, which is its own level of ridiculous)

Not only are Bentleys ridiculously expensive, they have a terrible fuel economy (again, on average) of 10-15 MPG. With a gas tank that holds 24 gallons, they get everywhere from 240–360 miles with every tank. The drive from Baltimore to Quantico is about 86/87 miles, although it could be shortened to 75 if you take a different route. (I don’t know anything about Baltimore, Quantico, or how their roads relate to the way Hannibal drives though, so we’ll assume it’s 86).

If all he does is drive from his house or office in Baltimore to Quantico, he’ll drive 86 miles. Out of whatever his gas mileage is, that’s (at *maximum*) very close to a quarter of a tank. Assuming he gets 15 miles to the gallon at all times, which is very unlikely. If he drives back home, he also drives 86 miles, bringing that total up to 172, which is just under half a tank.

Knowing Hannibal, though, he never just drives to work and back, so in a single day, he probably uses well over half a tank of gas. And to make matters worse, a lot of Bentleys only take Premium gas, which is always noticeably more expensive than regular gas.

TLDR: Hannibal Lecter drives a luxury car with a terrible gas mileage and probably uses half a tank in a single day’s work when he consults with the FBI, and in conclusion, 1) he should charge more for his services or just get a better car and 2) Will should hate him more. Get away from me with that insane wealthy privilege, somebody needs to write a fic about that.
