Sleepy & Boo + Friends at Marquee - Fri. July 18th
Marquee New York's Friday curators and resident DJs Sleepy & Boo are bringing their signature event back to the club for the third time in 2014, as Sleepy & Boo + Friends takes over the dancefloor on Friday July 18th.
Each and every Friday, Marquee New York features cutting-edge underground DJs from around the world, presenting an array of sounds and styles that have earned Fridays a reputation as one of the most consistent clubbing nights for music-lovers in New York. Sleepy & Boo + Friends is a party that's dedicated to the hometown sounds, as the residents and Basic Music co-founders take to the decks for a headlining set, joined by a lineup of hand-picked friends and guests. Sleepy & Boo have thrown the party for several years now around New York, and debuted the event at Marquee in 2013. As a personal expression of Sleepy & Boo's DJing and party philosophy, this night is all about great music that's primed for the dancefloor, and creating a welcoming vibe and atmosphere in which to experience it.
At the midway point of July, it's already been an exciting season for Sleepy & Boo. They kicked the summer off over Memorial Day Weekend with a memorable appearance at the inaugural Mysteryland USA festival, an event that's been hailed as one of the best electronic music festivals of the year in the US. They opened up the Sunday School Big Top tent on Sunday with a set that referenced the hallowed grounds of Woodstock, connecting the dots between underground music's psychedelic roots and its technological future. They also traveled to Ibiza in June, playing at the opening party for Booom Ibiza's Sunday night Love Club, and joining the Reverse party on Wednesdays at the massive Privilege. In addition, they've been nominated once again for the prestigious America's Best DJ 2014 poll, the annual fan-focused poll organized by DJ Times Magazine. There will be a voting booth on-hand at Marquee on the 18th where fans can pick their favorites.
This edition of Sleepy & Boo + Friends is sure to be a festive night. In addition to the usual merriment and music, the duo will be celebrating Sleepy's Birthday. Joining them on the decks will be their friends Brian Cid, who is making his Marquee New York debut, along with Philippe .V. from the French Tuesdays crew.
Please save the date for our favorite Friday of the month and we'll see you on the dance-floor for the next installment of Sleepy & Boo + Friends at Marquee.
