He didn’t retire so long as much that it ruined his physique or his fighting because Marie came out of nowhere and caused HIS story mode to start.
Meaning this dude literally must have had only a year, maybe even couple of months, depending on how we view canon time lines (Peacock’s story mode references his coming out of retirement through Andy, however, he had to have an ample amount of time to have a “tarnished legacy” in bad acting) that he must have been out there completely bodying a workout at the gym with a 6 pack or being a complete DUMBASS trying to get his rep to stay strong before getting vibe checked by Grendel’s arm at the start of his story mode.
