Whilst looking for a concert to go to, something different than the usual, I stumbled over this thrilling duo called Kolars.  Extraordinary looks but what is even more mind bending is the fact that drummer Lauren Brown not only plays drums but is also tap dancing to create the beats for their desert disco sound. I have seen tap dancing within a band before but not to this extend I think. This made so curious I can’t help but spending another sunny warm Berlin evening with four bunker like walls and sweat because of intense dancing.

Brett Dennen - “Already Gone”

Here is a little recommendation for tonight - just in case you soaked up in sun and want have a fun evening, too. Brett Dennen will play Privatclub, Berlin, tonight (07. April 2018). Just watch this video, listen to the sound of a travelling man, touring musician. You can hear the easiness of a Californian hippie on “Already gone” from his latest EP “Let’s” - an invitation to do something rather than just sit on your couch. So, for tonight, let’s dance at his concert.

Today in Berlin: E.B. The Younger

I’ve pointes it out beforehand but if you’re in Berlin tonight, you can have the pleasure to watch E.B. The Younger playing in the Badehaus. E.B. The Younger is the new solo project by Eric Pulido, member of Midlake, BNQT and a few more side projects. He released his debut album “To Each His Own” earlier this year, a collection of beautiful, heartfelt songs like the one below. Musically a reminiscence of former times, Folk and Country from the 60ies and 70ies without being a lifeless copy of what has been. He takes this inspiration from former times to make his own warm blend. Eric himself says about the album that it’s “an eleven-song journey through the life and times of a wayward Midlaker seeking to find purpose in an uncharted land. Will he find his way? Listen, and ye shall find.”

I'd just like to point out that I fell a little bit in love with Luke Burr when I listened to "Heaven" last night. And if you live in Berlin and you have nothing to do tonight: he is playing at Auster Club as part of Småll Sessions TONIGHT!

Good morning and happy Sunday,

this is a gentle reminder that you’ll have one more chance to experience one of those wonderful Badeschiff Sessions. Autumn is on it’s way but today will be nice and sunny in Berlin. You can find all infos here. Once again three wonderful bands will make their way to the beach. One is/are The Franklin Electric. The Canadian quartet will bring their super catchy alternative Folk Pop with them. L.A. Salami is not from L.A. as I first thought when I read his name. He’s a singer-songwriter from London who also likes to rap (and is pretty good). Basically a rapper and not one of those bearded guys with an acoustic guitar and a lumberjack shirt. The third one in the round is Tinpan Orange from Australia. The brother-sister outfit will bring some more folk-pop to the table. A bit more traditional.
