"Gemütlich"
So ... according to this (very, very) small article in my local newspaper, there's apparently a video out there, where Sebastian actually speaks German during a press conference held at the #Berlinale2024.
And I definitely have to see (hear) this!
Do any of you have more information about this?
Here's the translation:
The favorite German word of US actor Sebastian Stan (41) is "gemütlich."*
"I can't remember, but I can understand a little bit,"** said the Englisch-speaking "Avengers" star in German on the sidelines of the Berlinale. Stan was born in Romania in 1982 and grew up partly in Vienna before moving to the USA at the age of 12. He won a Silver Bear for best acting performance in "A different man". (dpa)
*) "comfortable"
**) to be precise, his German syntax was wrong, but that's exactly what's so cute about him. Just for the fun of the German language, it must be: "Ich kann mich nicht mehr daran erinnern, aber ich kann ein bisschen davon verstehen." If I go word by word, he actually said: "I can't remember, but a little I can understand."
