Hello Kreuzberg! It is 5.30 and Luzia is about to close, actually most places at Oranienstr are closed at that time. Luzia has a reputation to be a place for hipsters and tourists, but it really feels soothing to get drunk on a good gin and tonic in the soft candle light of Luzia in a cold winter night.
The toilets are a weird contrast to the cozy, a little excessive atmosphere of the bar. They are cold, and industrial style steel toilets mix with sunny yellow walls.
So this is Panorama Bar at 4.53 am. The theme of Berghain bathrooms is steel. Steel toilets, steel doors, steel everything. Btw no shelves for drugs, or, as we say in German, Kokserablage. I went to pane to see Jus-ed that night. And with the help of a lot of amphetamine it all made sense.
So this is Wilde Renate. I remember when I visited this bathroom some months ago and she said she couldn’t use it. Because as always, the toilet seats were covered in drug caused diarrhia and other liquids (and it was only 4am or sth). Plus, there is no possibility to lock the door or even close it properly. However, when I took this picture at my end of a truely marvelous evening at 10am, I found those toilets surprisingly clean.
This picture was taken at 7:43 am right before the place closed. This is a classic Berlin club bathroom. Graffity, grease, all kinds of liquids and traces of amphetamin and maybe MDMA and keta included. No toilet paper of course, but a surprisingly clean toilet seat. You could even lock the door. Since it was very late, the bathrooms were quite empty. All I heard was the typical sound of rolling a bill and sniffing from the cabin next door.
Headed to Rummelsbucht afterwards.
