Aramis is known as one of the great classic leathers, but it's more civet than leather tbh. It's relentlessly, aggressively civety, which gives it a sort of shameless animalic machismo that's fun in an almost vulgar way.

It's also a complex, interesting scent; it opens with lemony aldehydes along with the spicy sparkle of myrrh and, a few minutes later, a gray-green herbal fustiness.

Unfortunately, my sample also came with a "choking" cigarette-smoke smell which mars the nice golden warmth in the base. (Bad oakmoss?)
