Thank God for next day delivery. When Sophia saw the invitation for the party and it’s theme, she quickly ordered herself a dress, pleased when the package arrived on her door the next day. She slipped into it, loving the sleeves and peacock feather detailing before sliding her shoes on and calling the car around. Sure, she wasn’t like Mrs. Peacock, if you watched the movie, but who didn’t like the color scheme? Plus, she knew everyone and their mother were going to be Miss Scarlet or, if they were more depressing, Mrs. White. She doubted anyone was really going to choose the dowdy Peacock.
It didn’t take long before Sophia was settled in her car, her house itself wasn’t far from the location, which she was thankful for. As she pulled up, she double checked her makeup in her compact, before exiting. With a quick goodbye to George, she was inside and ready to observe. This party was an excuse for everyone to be in one place and drunk, Sophia knew better than to think it would end well. Instead of staying by the door, she moved further into the building, looking around before heading to the drinks and ordering a glass of wine. “Nice costume.” She said, looking over at the person next to her.
