Okay so I’ve been thinking… my Christmas boyfriend is back aka Bernard from the Santa Clause…. I’m sick of not seeing many new fics about him. So I’m planning to do something about it :)
I’ve got a plan… (insert Dutch Van Der Linde.) I’m making a Bernard x ambiguous, fem reader fanfic. I’ll leave my notes for y’all, tell me if you think it sounds interesting.

Utterly and Perfectly Abnormal
-Takes place within two very long weeks a year after the events of The Santa Clause 2
-They bond through the shared idea of something different but altogether comforting and feasible.
Mild angst. He is immortal, and she is not, need I say more? DENIAL Bernard is a grump a, I’m sure he’ll say something wrong.(let’s be honest)
-Bernard is an actual lover boy, he greatly appreciates relationships of all kinds and wishes to one day have a private relationship of his own where he can have a life outside of the North Pole. Struggles with being so work oriented and purely methodical. Bernard's typical earnest, rule-following personality would clash dramatically with the powerful, confusing emotions of love, resulting in a charmingly clumsy and internally conflicted reaction. but eventually understands the joys of spontaneity and the extraordinary.
-the MC is very poetic and ambitious by nature, she has dreams of finding the perfect life and settling down, she strives to make a normal life for herself and often forgets the inevitable and unexpected, she is spontaneous and tries to roll with what life hands her, but sometimes it’s too much, which is why Bernard is there, to ground her and make her feel like everything is going to be okay. Eventually embraces abnormality and the extraordinary. Reader is adhd coded (Subtle-ish). Struggles a little to pick up on subtle shifts in demeanors or behaviors, also subtle flirting… sometimes.
-Both are deeply caring and compassionate individuals. She enjoys and appreciates his way of a structured life and security and he appreciates her spontaneity and her faith in taking small chances which he has always feared doing himself. The MC is trying to find any sort of normalcy in her odd and magical life whilst Bernard struggles to find a tiny sliver of abnormality that isn’t a threat to the North Pole in his 16,000 years of living the same life. The two are drawn to each other with oblivious attraction, both struggling to find the “why” and not focusing on the “just because” but since it seems too irregular and impossible they deny their feelings.
Their love feels like the song Hold Me Now by The Thompson Twins their love is very star-stuck and holds a lot of silent yearning. Quick breaths and hearts, pink cheeks and nervous habits, back and forth stumbling over words, eyes flickering away from each other’s gaze,
Eventual Smut With the song Movement by Hozier as the vibe. (It’s inevitable and much needed, I don’t make the rules)
