I know you lot don’t read captions but reposting the caption from my @photoworks_uk takeover here: • Really love this detail shot! • The perfect word that sums up the people I shoot and my work is “Afro-documentary”. I still find it crazy that I’ve managed to build an archive over the past 4/5 years, even though it wasn’t my intention. Already when going back and looking through it I feel nostalgic. It’s even more beautiful seeing the subjects from then to present day, the people that are no longer with us, the first day of meeting some people I get to call my friends now. Been doing a takeover this week over on >>>> @photoworks_uk <<<< Will be posting quite a few tomorrow and Friday so engage with over there :) Reposted the caption: Two more days to go for me - got lots more #friendsonfilm to share. • I came across this image when I was selecting for the “Dancing in Peckham” exhibition with Photoworks - it was one of those images that you don’t really notice the first time you get a roll back. I think because a lot of my work is documenting nightlife that some images get missed the first time round. Revisiting old work a few months later is one of my favourite things to do, I come back with a different eye and feeling.
