Out of curiosity, when you write fanfics, do you listen to music or have any other kind of background noise or do you write in silence?
Yes definitely, personally I love listening to music, it lets my imagination run wild and it sometimes helps me pinpoint emotions and movements. Like if I don’t know how to write a fight scene I love to pull up songs that fit the theme. Like “my songs know what you did in the dark” or smth like “it’s good to be king”/“higher ground” etc.
On the usual non fight scenes too but there I pull up things like “Bones” by Sail north or “where you are” from Moana.
It’s rare that I write in silence but if I do I know exactly what I want and am too focused to notice that I don’t have any music on XD
For me Some songs especially can help through silly parts that I feel like I could never write without music. (Like silly dances)
So yeah I generally write with music ✨
Here are the mentioned ones and some I also enjoy having around; (currently, this changes up every few months)
Smile a sunny morning
The Wonderful World of Strawberry Shortcake (1980)
this is so berry catchy🍓🩷
You know, as a writer, I think we can sometimes appreciate having to deal with so many WIP at the same time.
As for today, I get to choose if I want to write a fluffy genuine romance, messing with a silly café AU for no purpose than having fun or just torturing children shamelessly. And it’s such a great feeling.
We can be thankful to our messy brain guys.
for all of you ppl out there saying 'gay' has never been used as a slur - today i had to witness with my own two eye-orbs a coursemate complain about the (admittedly very shitty) platform we use for studies by saying "[it's] a gay system, haha!" and for a moment i truly felt transported back to 2001 🤯
