(VIDEO) HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco Witnesses the Signing of a Collaboration Agreement.
On Thursday, March 24, 2022, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco witnessed the signing of a collaboration agreement with the Fondation Prince Albert II de Monaco and famed Swiss explorer and environmentalist, Mr. Bertrand Piccard, during Monaco Ocean Week 2022.
According to Mr. Piccard, the purpose of the agreement is:
“…to bring greater connections between our labeled solutions and…
Cet article présente une analyse exclusive de l'équipe de JudaïQual à propos des innovations labellisées par Solar Impulse (ces recherches n'engagent pas Solar Impulse)
This week, as we move further away from completing our dream, we decided to step back and spend some time reflecting on the whirlwind we just crossed after completing the first Round-the-World solar flight.
An article in the BBC stood out to us in particular, comparing a photo taken out of Si2’s cockpit window looking onto the Persian Gulf with Salvador Dali’s 1951 painting, Christ of St. John of the Cross. The article made a touching parallel between the solar airplane’s 72-meter wing that looks over a region that has long been reigned by fossil fuels and Christ’s arms towering over the world.
While the anxieties of the 1950s were different than those of today, we can definitely see parallels in society’s fear of the unknown, facing the obscurities of the future. Today climate change is becoming common rhetoric, however very few people see it as an opportunity to innovate, to improve, to try out crazy ideas, to change the way we think about the world and technology. But this may be changing…
Congrats! Making the impossible of yesterday possible today. Next barrier to overcome everyone? https://t.co/Z0AY5TvCuu

Among the heart-wrenching articles in the news everyday, Solar Impulse seems to stand out as a message of hope. The public described Solar Impulse’s “505-day journey” proving “what’s possible in energy and flight” as an inspiration, overcoming barriers. But, as Bertrand Piccard put it: “the real success...will come only if others carry on their torch.” This message of hope has become truly emblematic of what is possible when people unite around a single purpose.
@bertrandpiccard in a troubled world, you bring us hope. @theground_up we will double our efforts! #futureisclean

“Courage, innovation and knowledge: for Switzerland, those three words will forever resonate with the year 2016...Solar Impulse 2 has proved to the world that by investing in education and sustainable energies, all our dreams can come true.”
Doris Leuthard
We were humbled by the world’s response to the first Round-the-World solar flight and are countlessly reminded that we have shared something incredible with the world - the results of which we may never be fully aware.
So proud of @bertrandpiccard and @andreborschberg ! They inspire us all to building a better future #futureisclean

C'est un type trop cool qui a fait le tour du monde en montgolfière puis en avion solaire :) en plus il a écrit un super livre “changer d'altitude” d'où la citation.

Solar Impulse finally took off from Chongqing (China) - destination Nanjing - on Tuesday April 21st at 06:06 local time, after a delay of two weeks due to bad meteorological conditions.
Bertrand Piccard replaced André Borschberg at the controls of Si2, for the sixth and last leg before crossing the Pacific, as he was in Switzerland recovering from the shingles!
Soon after takeoff, Si2 went through turbulences. ATC gave the green light for Bertrand to climb up to 14,000 feet, which is higher than planned. The flight was of 1,241km and lasted 17:22 hours cumulating to a RTW completion of 19.89% with Mr. Geng, our aviation specialist for China, supporting the team, as the flight conditions over the region are quite different to other standards.
The MCC had the honor of hosting Christian Masset, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who spoke with Bertrand about #futureisclean.
Bertrand Piccard let me cross the Pacific Ocean in spite of desperately wishing to do this exploration flight himself.
My son, Deniz, and his wife, Ludivine, gave birth to a wonderful daughter and made me a grandfather for the first time, it is such an incredible feeling.
My son, Teo, introduced me to Vipassana, 10 days of silent and intensive meditation, the perfect start of 2016
My daughter, Ela, who brings my energy to the highest level through her smile, her spontaneity and appreciation of life.
Our mission director, Raymond Clerc, cleared my view in the most difficult situation over the Pacific Ocean, which helped me come up with the right decisions.
Peter Frei, our configuration engineer, has been with me since the beginning of Solar Impulse and has always given me his honest recommendations, even if he knew it would not please me.
If one person really impressed me this year, it was Christiana Figueres, Executive Secretary, UNFCCC. She has been so active, involved and effective in making COP21 this year a success despite the difficult and diverging political and environmental views between countries.
When I arrived in Hawaii with Solar Impulse, I had the opportunity to enjoy a fantastic meal prepared by an incredible chef, Peter Foster, just hours after landing. It was a dream and such a nice way to reconnect with our terrestrial life!
I discovered laughter yoga every morning in Ahmedabad with Ranjula who led me through this new practice.
Dr. Li has since two years helped us connect with Chinese authorities to make our flight possible and welcome! Besides her professional obligations, I appreciated her personal concern for the whole Solar Impulse team.
As we were considering staying in Japan over the winter because of the bad weather over the Pacific Ocean, I met the Head of Sapporo airport, who kindly offered us to use their airport if conditions further deteriorated.
When I had to divert to Nagoya in Japan during my flight from China to Hawaii, the Governor of Nagoya Prefecture gave us a warm welcome, which made it all easier. He even invited us to stay longer and further develop Solar Impulse’s activities there.
In Abu Dhabi I performed some helicopter flight missions under the control of a security agent. I was so impressed by his dedication to his country and its Leader. It helped me further understand how the country is governed.
I am so thankful to my friend, David Allen, who provided incredible hospitality to my entire family when waiting for me to cross over the Pacific Ocean. Thank god he didn’t know I would take so much time to finally make it!
And my love for my wife, Yasemin, who has been so supportive and loving each day of this year.
During the last days of 2015, I have been reading Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind by Yuval Harari. Read it if you want to step back and take some distance from what is happening in our world!
Humankind is at a crossroads. If we want to survive, we need clean technology and renewable energies. But we also need human rights. We need medical research. We need to fight against poverty. We need better governance on this planet. I think this is where explorers really need to focus.
