Welcome to The Art of Basique - a collective initiative serving as the brainchild of three college best friends who refuse to buy into the assumption that Whiteness is equated with “good”, and that heteronormativity should serve as the standard for what is deemed acceptable #false. While the patriarchy is busy stealing our dollars, we’ll be over here giving our two cents on issues worthy of our attention (no, we don’t give a f* that Taylor swift has an annoying new earworm, and we’re not concerned with what so and so was wearing to the Oscars).
We believe that diversity in all its shapes, sizes, colours, abilities, religions, creeds, etc. are not only beautiful, but that they should be celebrated. Here’s to taking down ideology one inside joke/hashtag/grindr screenshot at a time. We hope you are thoroughly entertained in the process.
