ApriL First FooL: you fooLed me. and i wonder if this'd be the last time yet. o.o

Yesterday was ApriL FooL's Day.

And boy, was I fooLed.

Y'know, i've had this experience on one ApriL FooL's eve before. It was way back junior year in highschooL, back when I stayed in a dorm I shared with the rest of the girL-dormers. It was raining outside, I was on my deck [an upper-bunk of a two-decked bed], sLeeping before dinnertime. A cLose friend of mine cLimbed up to my deck and woke me up. She then opened up something which led to a very sensitive confession. I was shocked. I mean, I just woke up and it was ApriL first so I was like, "Hey. That's not a good joke. You just woke me up and now, this is what you teLL me?". She repLied, "No, sis. I mean, I'm serious about this. No joke." Seconds passed then, I hugged her.

So...that was just a fLashback of my not-so-good experience 3 years ago which leads me to share this not-so-good-either experience of mine last night.

See, I was bored and I wasn't receiving any text from certain peopLe I've been anticipating texts from so I texted them a " ^~^ ". A smiLey. Just like that.

Minutes later, I received a text from this certain guy who, by no doubt, is dear to me. [And I'd rather not go into detaiLs about that. I'LL save that up for some other time.] The text said,

Good evening. I wouLd just like to inform you that Mr. ********* had just suffered a minor heart faiLure at 7pm this evening. PLease heLp us pray for his fast recovery. This is *********, *****'s brother.

[for privacy's sake, I decided not to mention names]

Who, for someone dear (and have been traumatized by a previous ApriL FooL's experience), wouLd not take that text seriousLy? I mean, reaLLy?

I tried to contact his brother, but to no avaiL, his own number was unattended. And I lost their mom's number aLong with my other phone.

I repLied, thinking it was his brother. An exchanged of a few texts happened.

I started to get coLd and I texted my cLose friends to heLp me pray for this person. Minor heart faiLure?? I have no idea of its compLications. And my mom, who's a nurse, was aLready asLeep [tired from work, so I decided not to wake her up]. Yes. I was worried. My 6-year oLd brother who noticed a change in my mood asked what's the matter. My friends, Gari and Janine comforted me, toLd me to trust God.

Hours passed, I received a text from him saying:

Happy ApriL FooL's Day She...^_^

I was stunned. But managed to repLy, " right. that was a bad joke. "

He just said, " Sorry po. "

I was pissed. I texted,

.,you're a jerk. but i'm gLad you're okay though.

I don't normaLLy caLL someone names but I was reaLLy annoyed that time.

forreaL, he texted a lot of sorry's and apoLogies. I didn't reaLLy know why he's making an effort. But reaLLy, a sorry doesn't make up for much. On the other hand, knowing him, he won't apoLogize unLess he reaLLy means it.

But then, I texted,

stop it with the sorry's aLready. I don't know when to take you seriousLy anymore. o.o

...

I later found out that I wasn't the onLy one who got pissed for that joke. A very cLose friend of his, who was at a drinking session last night, got worried too. Bothered that he was drinking whiLe his friend was in an emergency.

So, that was just it. I do hope he reaLizes that he is cared for. Loved by a bunch of peopLe. And most of aLL, I'm stiLL praying that he comes to know the love of God again. Yes, I wiLL continue to pray for him to come back to God's presence.

I wonder how God feLt knowing that peopLe suddenLy prayed for someone because of an ApriL FooL's joke.
