So I may be a lazy artist, but in my very small circle of people I interact with on a daily basis (FRIENDS!), I’m lucky enough to know some incredible artists who use their talent to support the work of women. How flippin’ cool (and necessary) is that? I’m lucky.
The top is a poster my friend (and fellow former video store co-worker/college roommate/Dateline-obsessed/our-dogs-are-also-besties) Bethany Patzner (http://bethanyleyrer.tumblr.com/) created for an all-girls show presented by Pangea House in Minot, North Dakota.
The bottom poster is a creation of Toby Rampton (http://tobyrampton.com/), a lovely bloke who enjoys pints and antique shops as much as me. He also introduced me to Twin Peaks and Moomins. This design was a collaboration with Print to the People and “Words and Women” (http://wordsandwomennorwich.blogspot.com/) which supports women writers in the East of England. This piece is inspired by “Suite for My Father” by Melissa Fu.
Be a woman artist or support a woman artist. Both bring joy.
