AU. Daryl is walking to get the bus when a soft voice calls from a tree. He looks up and sees Beth shaking in horror trapped in the highest part of a tree.

“S...sir?”
He looked with jaw almost dropped
“whatcha doing up there darling?”
“A...a cat...trapped” She stuttered almost in a panick attack. Her arms were shaking, very firmly gripping the branches that even some of the leaves were falling. “...I...climbed and it...took off...now..I...I”
“Ok, darling, relax. Just...” He looked around the street but it seemed that he was the only one there who could help her climb down.
“...’k, uh... try to step on the branch to your left, the one that is down.”
She looked at it, her furrow showing a ‘nope’ in her face.
“Trust me.”
“what if I slip?”
Daryl hesitated. “Well...I’ll catch you.”
Beth started to move carefully around the branches until her left foot stepped on the branch Daryl told her.
“Good. Now, sit and grab a hold from the other branch in front of you.”
Beth moved more confidently and did as Daryl said. Now she was closer to the ground, her heart slowed down its beat but her flat slipped over the bark, causing her to squeal and clamp her arms around the branch in front of her.
“Woah...careful, babe!”
“I can’t do it!”
“oh...ok, then just jump”
“WHAT?”
“Yeah...” He opened his arms. “Come over, I’ll get you”
Beth widened her eyes.
“no...no, no, no, no, wai...AAAH!” Her foot slipped and she was now falling free. Daryl ran as fast as he could and he got to get her before she hit the floor. Both fell in a tangle of legs and arms, his tight around her frame he didn’t notice he was practically touching her a boob, she didn’t notice either that her hand rested pretty close to his groin.
“oh..”
“uh..”
“sorry.”
“I...oh Crhist!”
“Are you ok?”
She stepped shaking the grass of her clothes.
“Yeah...I’m fine.”
“your thighs might get sore in a minute.” He pointed out. “You know what’s good for that. Drinking something warm, like... a coffee...or a tea...” He crooked a smile.
She smiled too.
“I’ll take that as a yes.”

Prison setting. Beth wants to learn how to use other bigger guns but Daryl doesn’t want to teach her because he wants to keep her safe and out of danger from the runs. After a time insisting she gives up, but Merle takes an afternoon and teaches her. Daryl sees and gets mad at Merle.

Beth spends the night with Daryl (no sex, just sleeping) then next morning she wakes up and her period starts coming down. She runs to the bathroom and sees she is stained, plus she didn't bring any pad or tampon with her so Daryl needs to go to buy some for her.

Beth and Daryl run away with baby Judith from the prison and they get the chance to start over as a family, since they never got to see Rick ot any other of the group again. One day Rick meets them in the woods and he sees lil Judith now a 4 year old girl holding the hand of Daryl as she asks to him: "Daddy who is that man?"

Daryl and Beth spend their first winter together since the destruction of the prison. They get to find a small hut in the middle of the woods where they will spend the night. After securing the perimeter, Daryl chooses the less cold corner, puts some ragged blankets and opens his poncho to Beth, who stares at him awkwardly. She reluctantly goes to him and crawls in a ball. Both are blushed and don't know what to do or how to react.

THANKSGIVING SPECIAL Daryl works hard for his wife and twins. One Thanksgiving afternoon he gets home and is received by his two little girls. Beth is in the kitchen preparing mashed potato and stirring the pot of gravy. He goes to take a shower when Glenn and Maggie arrive with a huge container full of cabbage sallad and the dessert. They are followed by Hershel, then Rick, Lori, Carl, and Judith arrive to their place. After Daryl says grace they start eating as Judith plays with her twin cousins.
