No filters for best accuracy. Experiments with the #betterblack by @stuartsemple and #culturehustle The closest crow was cast with black-tinted resin + pigment, the second was clear resin + pigment, and the far one was painted with the pigment + Super Base. Resin isn't especially compatible with the pigment because the binders make it foam, introducing air bubbles... and this seems to lead to some texture shifts. The surface matte-ness of the mast also comes into play, so I may try making an ultra-matte master to try at some point when I have more time. Not sure if I have the ratio of the base to the pigment correct; it does not seem especially "black"; as you see, the bottle appears darker where the painted bird is slightly chalky and warmer toned. More experimentation is needed, possible instruction. #sharetheblack
