Questions for you:
(1) Describe your best friend in five words.
(2) What languages can you speak, or have ever studied?
(3) Of all the stereotypes and generalizations about your gender/race/nationality/job/whatever you identify with, which one annoys you the most?
(4) What are your feelings about classical music?
(5) What's your dream job?
(6) Name three tags you're tracking.
(7) Are you in any fandom whose canon is so perfect that you feel it couldn't be improved? If yes, which one?
(8) Do you have an OTP you feel very very VERY strongly about?
(9) What are your favorite tropes in fic?
(10) Rec one fic or author, or, if you don't read fanfiction, a fan artist or a blog.
(11) If you were an ice-cream flavour, which one would you be?
My answers:
(1) Everyone tell me your favourite character!
What, in the world??? It might be Kaylee. Or Tiffany Aching.
(2) You can live in any place and time, real or fictional. Which do you choose?
Diagon Alley, nowadays. Duh.
(3) You can make any ship canon (and/or happily-ever-after). Which do you choose?
There are SO MANY ships that I'd like to see in canon! Or maybe not so many; I do ship for a lot of fandoms whose creators I have zero faith in. Like, I doubt Sterek will ever be canon, but seriously, it'd be so faily that I am happier reading all the fic. So. Cool ship, nice creators, if slash preferrably with lots of visibility. Korra/Asami? Yeah, Korra/Asami it is.
(4) You can remove a character from the canon—not kill them off, but wave a wand and they will have never been present in the canon. Who is it?
Piz from Veronica Mars. Though I'd rather erase the whole third season, really.
(5) What is your most hated change in an adaptation?
Anne Elliot running around Bath. No, no. The random "I couldn't sleep" P&P scene. No! Achilles and Patroclus being cousins. OH WAIT NO. The whole ATLA movie. From beginning to end.
(6) You can fuse the settings of your two favourite fandoms. What happens?
Austen and Lope. Let's keep the Regency fashions, but the Crawfords would be the main characters and be forgiven everything by the end of the novel. There would also be crossdressing, swordfights, mistaken identities and probably funny peasants. The ending would be a happy ever after Mary/Edmund and Henry/Fanny, and there would also be two other last-minute marriages among their servants. OMG Anghraine, make someone write this for me?
(7) What were you up to, fannishly, in 1999?
Nothing much! Goblet of Fire would come out in 2000, though, and by then I was so anxious to know what happened that I read the whole thing in English. We had just barely covered the past simple tense in school, but WHO CARED I NEEDED TO KNOW. And then I discovered the internet fandom and I could finally talk about fannish stuff with people.
(8) You can change one historical event in your canon. Which is it?
Huh. My fandoms don't have historical events? I had never thought about it.
(9) What’s your most questionable ship?
I feel pretty bad about reading RPF, but I don't want to give up Geno as a character or all the J2 AUs or zarah5's 1D fic. Other than that, Snape/Hermione.
(10) What’s the last sentence you wrote?
Besides this? A note on a quote in my dissertation. Boring. The last fic sentence I wrote was for my doomed attempt at a Northanger Abbey coffeeshop AU.
(11) You can break up a canon ship. Which is it?
This question goes against my shipping credo. Idk, an abusive relationship, those make me sad. Or, no, since I'm making Asami/Korra canon, I'd make Korra and Mako break up explicitly beforehand.
