@msbettyross “I can if you want me to,” Betty paused on her path to the door and looked over her shoulder at Pepper, “I just thought Tony might be on his way and you would want to spend time with him. I’m happy to stay!” Betty hadn’t lived in the tower long and she was still getting used to the idea that she wasn’t overstepping any boundaries by being around. This was her home just as much as it was everybody else’s now, and she was allowed to act like it. “Would you like to have lunch together? I was just about to make some for Bruce as well because I know he won’t eat unless prompted. He’s too stuck in his notes.”
“Oh god no,” Pepper shook her head,”That’s how I know you’re still new around here. Tony? Love of my life? Prying him away from his work is an actual art form that I don’t always have the energy or will to do that. “ She had her strategies of course, typically that tended to make sure the science inhabitants actually took their meal times. Bruce was no exception to that rule. The last few weeks, Tony had been almost nesting of sorts. Impossible man, really.
Pepper tended to force herself out of her office to not work through lunches if she didn’t have a lunch meeting already scheduled. Simply to make sure she stretched her legs. Something as banal as going home for lunch was her usual solution. “I’d actually love the company.”
