New York City – December 14th, 2017 - Spotteart.com, online exhibition space for contemporary art & design introduces a new show titled “Silhouettes of Alter". Spotteart.com has been putting together internet-based art shows since its launch in early 2014. "Silhouettes of Alter" presents work by artists Vigintas Stankus (LT), Floris Felix (FR), Beverly Rautenberg (US) and Ricky Vior (AR). Collections are available for purchase online from December 5th, 2017. Vigintas Stankus is an expressionist painter based in Vilnius, Lithuania. Mainly abstract, Vigintas' work is spontaneous and rich in texture. His abstractions leave the space for imagination. Since the very beginning, the style and media, colors and rhythm of his canvases went through many incarnations allowing him to grow while continuing to search for the new forms of abstraction. The paintings for Spotte are from the latest creative period, made through experiments with ashes and oil paints to reach a maximum feeling of nature. Floris Felix is a Dutch visual artist based in Paris. A quaint setting of the artist's hometown, located between Amsterdam and the coast, has largely influenced his practice. Floris has studied at the Rietveld Academy of fine arts in Amsterdam, graduating from the Vogue Academy with a degree in fashion design. His current practice encompasses painting and illustration. La dance des Ecorchées collection for Spotteart is a series of seven paintings. Each painting embodies a unique image but when layered on top of each other, like playing cards, together they form one. Ecorché literally means pealing off and is often used to describe our emotions. On every painting, more skin is peeled off and more flesh appears. Beverly Rautenberg is a sculptor and mixed media artist based in Chicago, USA. She received her BFA in Sculpture from the School of the Art Institute, Chicago. The artist has been awarded the prestigious Robert Rauschenberg Foundation Grant, Change Inc in 2014. Her artwork is intimate and is almost always square. It combines the reductive formalism of a minimalist aesthetic with the autobiographical subject matter. The material, color, and surface are used as signifiers to communicate a personal narrative. The Works in this New Series are inspired by observing the Colors of the End of Summer and the Beginning of Fall, Sunrise, and Sunsets in Chicago. Ricky Vior (b.73, Buenos Aires, AR) is currently based in Miami, FL. He studied at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London. In 2008 in Buenos Aires he creates a TINAG ( ThisIsNotaGAllery) the smallest gallery in the world, that showcase art 24/7 through a tiny window. Along with Converse, he created two programs to support street artists in Mexico and San Pablo.“Highways”: A project that recovers the spaces under the highways and transforms them into underground galleries and venues, where local artists can show their art and music. In 2014, he moved to Miami. His work is a mix of street cultures, languages and colors. In 2017 he’s been selected as one of the 18 creative leaders in America by Adweek magazine.
