Fear Of Rejection: Be Who God Made You To Be Have you ever worried about what other people think about you? We all have. Maybe you act a certain way and you know it’s not you, but you do it to fit in with people. Or, you dress a certain way so you don’t stand out in a weird way or get made fun of. You want people to like you. That’s okay. It’s actually a good thing—a healthy thing. But it becomes a problem when we become so afraid of what other people think of us that we stop being ourselves. Look at the verse you just read. Here’s what it's pretty much saying. We shouldn’t try to impress others, and we don’t need to impress God. He loves you just the way He made you, and He wants you to be you. I know we all want to belong and fit in, but you need to know you belong to God first. Once you understand that, you’ll begin to understand who God has made you to be, and you’ll notice that being rejected isn’t so scary. Not being accepted for who I am in this world is one of the worst feelings for me. Sometimes people stereotype me for not being as popular as they are or just being different. There were moments where I just wanted to change who I was just to feel accepted, yet they saw right through me. I tried to even like what they liked, even if I thought it was stupid. You can't please everyone! If you are a Christian. ACT LIKE ONE! People always ask me "Sel, how do you continue to stay so positive, generous, and forgiving towards those people who have rejected you?". Honestly, there are times when I would like to stereotype them the way they do me, but that is just fighting fire with fire. I also know that someone greater in power is on my side, and that is my Lord Jesus Christ. HE ACCEPTS ME! I am so thankful that the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords and the Great I Am has me in the palms of his hands and gives me the courage to stand up for myself when I am around critics that are in the world, around school/work, and some even in my own family. He let's me know that I am strong and I should be proud of who I am and how I was made perfect. All I got to say is JUST SHAKE IT OFF☺ #positivethinking #christian #bewhogodmadeyoutobe
