was it a stupid idea for the two girls to go through the haunted house, knowing they aren’t good at digesting such jumpscares? maybe. maybe not, who really knows.

but, eunji has no regrets as they walk through the dark rooms, arms linked with one another as their feets dragged across the floors. “we have to walk fast so we’re not easy targets for the actors.” she stated, her tone full of humor as they already got spooked a few seconds ago from the previous room. her head turned to examine their surroundings, eyes squinting to adjust to the darkness that consumed them. there was nothing more fun than running around and screaming at the top of their lungs whenever someone jumped out.

“if we keep walking so slow, we’ll never get out of here.” even though her legs felt weak from all the surprises, her heart beating with anticipation. it almost felt like she had to be strong for the other young woman, she wasn’t as scared but that didn’t stop her from jolting and laughing the embarrassment away. “and we can’t run, because i know my dumb self will run into a wall.”

yuji’s half invested with the tutorial she’s watching on tiktok, and the other half paying attention to what’s going on around her. she’s taking a minor rest, idly scrolling through tiktok as she lounges on a bench for a moment. she’s been exhausted with training lately, her body not used to the immense amount of physical labor she does day in and day out. doesn’t help she overworks herself at the hostel too-- but that’s a problem for a different day. 

getting bored with the tutorial, she swipes up to see what else is loading for her for you page, chancing a glance up around her. there are a couple people milling about, some walking to and from their chosen destinations. yuji people watches for a moment, the looping sound of music in her ear as she observes. she’s just about to shift her attention back to her phone as a girl passes by her-- only for yuji’s eyes to catch something falling off the girl’s belongings and onto the cement; blinking at it, then at the girl, yuji pushes off the bench to reach out and pick up the item. it’s a keychain of a girl, with a microphone and a cute, flashy outfit; something out of one of those idol animations, one that reminds her of-- oh! wait! she holds it closer to her face, letting out a hum of recognition. head snapping up to the girl, yuji moves to catch up with her, calling out. “ah, excuse me! miss? you dropped something!”
