I’m BACK!!! I didn’t mean to disappear off the face of the earth but here I am, existing. I’m really excited but a bit nervous to share this project I’ve been wanting to do for a long time. I’m sharing my designs for a Metal Fight Beyblade au I’m working on!

The au is mostly just a rewrite especially for fury but I don’t want to consider these designs and story a “redesign” or canon complaint. Most of these designs are just my takes of the beyblade characters in my style. Some characters look very different while others look very similar with minor changes. My way of thinking about it is that an AU takes place in a different universe/timeline therefore every character will at least have one difference whether is be big or small. I’m also just guessing heights and ages based roughly on the anime and mostly on vibes so my age ranges and height could be totally wrong lol.

I’ll go into more detail about each character below but here are the Seasonal Bladers! I am currently working on the Solar System Bladers next but if you have a character you’d like to see or any design suggestions I’d love to hear it! These are all concept sketches so they’re bound to change.

First up is Gingka! Other than the design of his shoes and jacket, which were only made different for aesthetic reasons, I changed his scarf a bit to look more like feathers. I gave him some bangs that mimic the way they look in Shogun Steel (though I didn’t watch it) and his hair in the back is supposed to look a little more swept back and sticking up (like my older drawing from Mayblade) but i wasn’t able to pull that off from this angle (>m<) I also like to give my Gingka freckles and the more noticeable ones are supposed to vaguely be in the shape of the pegasus constellation.

Next is Kyouya! I didn’t change much for him, I added one of the hanging belts he had in his Fusion/Masters design here and instead of giving him a ponytail, I put his hair in a braid. I like to think the end of the braid looks like the tuft of a lion’s tail :>. For my au most of Kyouya’s changes would be in his story during Fury, I don’t exactly know how to put it into words just yet but qloof had a lot of thoughts I agreed with for a Fury rewrite. (Also glad to know I’m not the only one who won’t shut up about Metal Fury teehee)

Ryuuga was one of the designs I had the most fun designing. I wanted to give him a different jacket design but still keep it mostly white and hanging off his shoulders. I also think it would be fun to give him scars from the dark power. I made them mimic lighting because one, it looks cool, and two a little nod to lightning l’drago. POINTY EAR RYUUGA AND RYUUTO SUPREMACY. I love adding that little nod to his backstory in the manga and i also like to draw his eyes with slit pupils, like a dragon. I also gave him a fancy little waist chain with a dragon for funsies.

Kenta, dear god was he hard for me to draw. I am really bad at drawing characters and trying to make them look different ages and different bodies types but this project is also an excuse to work to improve that. I didn’t change much for Kenta, I just changed the style of capris shorts he wears as well as his shoes. I gave him an extra belt, the idea was that along with his change in outfit between fury and masters, he also adds the belt to be a little bit more like Gingka. I also gave him some bandaids on his legs because I think there’s no way he doesn’t get scratches from the force of fighting Ryuuga.

Chris!! One of my favorites despite his speed-ran character arc. I didn’t change much here either, I changed his shoes to boots to reflect his time out in the wild and gave him a slightly different style of cargo pants. Chris is such an interesting character to me and I never understand the hate he gets on the sub-Reddit.

Thanks for reading all of my yapping! I hope to further develop this and continue working on this passion project between my college classes. Most of these guys don’t have much of different designs but I know other characters will have more drastically different designs like Gingka does. Also feel free to ask questions in my asks, I’m trying my best not to disappear in a lurker status again.

Oh Kyoya’s mom is messy for sure but in a very complex way I think; I love her dearly but good lord she would be much happier without children

Anyways! Fluffy kyonile🥹

-> I know I basically just made a whole angst post about them not communicating. But the thing is. MOST OF THE TIME THEY REALLY DON’T NEED TO😭 9/10 they will just look at each other and read what the other person is thinking (correctly! they will read it correctly!!)… it freaks people out a little bit ngl (except masaking. because masaking is doing the exact same thing and all four of them agree it’s a very normal way to communicate)

-> All things considered they realize their feelings pretty quickly? It honestly takes them longer to figure out they have a crush to begin with, but once they figure that one out, they clock the other persom pretty quickly too and it becomes very evident that it’s mutual… AND THEN they take fucking ages to get together because they are both stubborn idiots and neither wants to be the one that breaks first and makes the move. Resulting in way too much teasing and flirting and REFUSAL to act on said feelings😭 It becomes a game to them, they know they will eventually end up together so might as well see how far they can push each other before one of them snaps

-> They are fr so goofy if they want to be (which. 99% of the time they do NOT actually💀) but like, lock them away from the public and they can laugh together for hours… their humor is mostly just inside jokes tho. Literally noone outside of WF knows what the hell they are yapping about

-> During World champs they had a “mandatory language hour” before bed when they could only speak in arabic or japanese… they got really good at speaking each other’s languages that way

-> speaking of World champs; when traveling WF either had one room with two bunk beds (iykyk) or two separate rooms; and I headcanon Nile to be a pretty light sleeper + Demure as someone who talks in his sleep… that combined with Benkei’s snoring meant that the only valid sleeping arrangement, that doesn’t lead to Nile in the most god awful sleep deprived mood the next day, was for kyonile and demben to share the rooms-> Which resulted in a lot of sleepy late night conversations on kyonile end (demben too, but this isn’t about them)

((But they did also invest in earbuds for Nile in case they ended up in a hotel with only one room))

-> Nile’s mom absolutely ADORES Kyoya (pre-finding out about kyonile that is😬 but even after that Kyoya still has her seal of approval).

-> Nile is chronically online. Kyoya is chronically offline… This results in Nile having to frequently explain new memes and whatever brainrot Yu is quoting that week

-> “Try this and tell me if it’s pork”

-> Kyoya LOVES his nose. Genuinely borderline obsessively. Kisses on the nose are mandatory in every kyonile universe!! specifically on the side of the bridge…? like. not on the front but a little off center, near the corner of the eye? Oh you know what spot I’m talking about. Those kisses are their thing, you will never take them away from me, bury them next to my corpse when I die etcetc

-> I love to give Nile a bit of a waist obsession, that he isn’t even aware of. He will grab the waist in order to move people out of the way, hands always landing on the hips when he is hugging someone, lingering touches on the lower back, that sort of jazz

-> now imagine how transfixed he gets when Mr. Crop tops and low raise decides to get a navel piercing… but I’m sure there is absolutely no correlation between any of these and his crush on Kyoya tho!!

-> anyways, hands always on lower back or waist is what I’m saying

-> Kyoya also loves watching him battle (i mean. CANON ACTUALLY but still) (same)

-> Speaking of Kyoya (i say. on a kyonile post thats entirely about kyoya), he loves when his partners get all up in his face and stand their ground, it’s a very central part of all my kyo-ships. That post about kyonile arguing? at least 20% of those arguments end because Kyoya can’t stop himself from growing increasingly fond in the middle of them

-> HEAD SCRATCHES!!!

-> I’ve said this already a bajilion times but i don’t care! I hc Nile to call everyone and their mother petnames… but there is only ever one Love or Sweetheart

(And for the record, Kyoya absolutely HATES it!… that said he might actually kill a man if Nile ever stops calling him that tho..)

-> they are both so agressively against PDA😭 Will burn the place down before they ever stand too close to each other or god forbid hold hands (how scandalous!). Their friends literally don’t believe they got together at first (even tho said friends have been pushing how they should get together for ages) because they are just. not showing any signs of affection whatsoever?😭

-> They frequently end up hosting WF reunions at their place (whenever Demure has time to travel) and chances of Benkei being there for a random dinner are very high at all times ((neither of them minds, because they both love Benkei terribly but also said dinner usually end up being cooked by Benkei❤️😭))

-> they end up adopting a cat eventually (or the cat ends up adopting them; you know how the cat distribution system works, they had very little control in that situation lmao)

As for kyochris

They are a bit trickier for me because I don’t really spin them around that much and a lot of their dynamic comes from the fics, but here you go:

->They just vibe so much with each other yk? They are both haters at their core, so it feels nice when they can finally talk with someone who matches their energy

-> I said horses don’t like Chris once… YOU KNOW WHO THOSE AWFUL CREATURES DO LIKE THO?!?! WHY??!?! WHAT DOES KYOYA HAVE THAT CHRIS DOESN’T?!! KYOYA DOESN’T EVEN LIKE HORSES THAT MUCH, DEFINITELY NOT AS MUCH AS CHRIS, SO WHY DO THEY LIKE KYOYA BUT NOT HIM?!!? WHAT HAS HE DONE TO DESERVE THIS TORTURE??!?! WHY HIM?!??

-> Kyoya has to put a stop to it because he REFUSES to break up over horses, but damn, he wasn’t aware what he was signing up for when he suggested that little date

-> Chris almost kills him on the spot when he finds out about all the crazy stuff Kyoya does for training purposes. Sure he has done his share of crazy stuff in his life before… BUT HE WAS GETTING PAID!!! What do you mean Kyoya jumps into tornadoes for free???? Is he stupid or what??

-> That said, they both crave a little shot of adrenaline at all times; so their dates tend to be filled with unnecessarily challenging moments. The freaks.

-> They have a very similar humor, so whenever something happens they will instinctively look at each other and start laughing (and/or grinning in Kyoya’s case)

-> every time Chris goes on a mission abroad he will send him a postcard (with a fake name ofc. Which does very little and STILL makes it needlessly reckless and dangerous and Kyoya WILL absolutely tell him that when he returns (but he will also store said postcard in the drawer with the rest of them, a tiny smile playing on his face))

-> this one isn’t mine, somebody said it once but I can’t for the life of me remember who: Chris loves AITA posts on Reddit!! So once they start dating they randomly spend their friday nights reading through and yapping about them

(this also applies to platonic kyochris btw!! It’s a completely normal thing for Chris to get a message from Kyoya that’s just a link to one apeshit crazy AITA story)

-> “I should leave you for Nile” they both say whenever a minor inconvenience happens

Crys's character development, a new spark bloomed in him

About his character design : the down right Crys is when he's 19yo , he got a tan after training in South America for 2,5 years with Kyoya ( who also got a tan ) , the colorful bangs resulted from unlocking a new blader level ( most of the characters in that time-line got colorful bangs )
