Hilary's life is peaceful, she has loving parents, a warm home and a stable school life. There is a very annoying neighbour who takes up more space than allowed in her mind, but she does a good job of keeping him at an arm's length most of the time. She knows that she should not want for anything more, but she craves to feel the rush of being someone more than her usual self. So she takes a rebellious step, which unfolds a new chapter in her life but the pen glides across the page without her permission, making her lose control over everything. [AU]
Notes: This AU is one of my personal favourites, and when FFN decided to go wonky this week, I pulled up the courage to start reworking it for a standalone fic on AO3. On FFN this was posted as a singular long one-shot, but while editing I started to add a few scenes here and there, and rearranged the dialogues overall, so I decided to make it a multi-chap fic. This AU has TyHil as childhood neighbours and frenemies, but focuses more on Hilary's point of view and her relationship with her mother particularly. For anyone wanting to read a Hilary focused TyHil fic, this is it! I will be updating it within this week and the next, so there’s not a long wait associated with this one.
