My last entry for @may-blade - I started this on May 31st for the FREE DAY and only finished it last night. Here, Tyson is contemplating some big changes in his life as he approaches the end of high school and potentially his beyblading career in my fanfic - No Sacrifice, No Victory

“Look,” Becky tugged the sleeve of her blazer with one hand. “It’s Kai,” she said, inclining her head towards the school gates. “And Tala,” Steph observed. Her best friend’s flaming hair was unmistakable. The two Russians were standing rather stiffly just inside the school gates. “Is it just me, or do they look a bit irked?” Becky said. “I’m not sure,” Steph said, feeling somewhat uneasy. “Come on,” she said, hitching her bag up onto her shoulder as they crossed the courtyard. Tala wasn’t just irked - he was positively furious. “Have you seen them?” he asked her when she and Becky caught up to them. Steph followed his gaze across the courtyard to where a group of students were gathered beneath a pair of cherry blossom trees that had yet to bloom. Steph recognised them immediately as the former members of the BEGA League; Garland Siebold, Brooklyn Masefield and Ming-Ming Love. Beside her, Becky sucked in a nervous breath. “What the hell are they doing here?” Tala was saying, his voice rising. “Did you know they’d be here?” Steph hesitated. She knew exactly why the BEGA beybladers were here. “Mr Dickenson extended the scholarship to all the beybladers who participated in the BEGA matches,” she explained cautiously, wincing as Tala swore loudly in Russian. “Why the hell would he do that?” he asked. “Because after BEGA collapsed they were left with nothing,” Steph reminded him. “The BBA was reinstated, their coach resigned and we were reinstated as Japans representative team.” She sighed, watching his expression grow only more irritated. “Dickenson just wants them to have a fair go.” “Who says they deserve a fair go?” Kai said darkly. He was standing with his fist clenched and Steph saw, tucked tightly in his grasp, was his old beyblade - Dranzer HMS. For a brief moment, Steph wondered if he might confront the BEGA beybladers right there in the school yard until Becky reached forward, her fingers curling tightly around the sleeves of his blazer. “Kai,” she spoke quietly, yet her words still made him flinch. He turned to her and his expression immediately softened and his fingers relaxed their grip on his beyblade. Becky kept her momentum, reaching for his beyblade. “Not here,” she told him. He nodded wordlessly, tucking Dranzer back into his pocket. Beside him, Tala tsked in annoyance. “Maybe not here,” he agreed, and there was venom in his voice as his gaze zeroed in on Garland. It took Kai a moment to regain his composure entirely, when he did tucked both hands into the pockets of his trousers and walked away, muttering something about it not being worth his time.
Alright… who wants a daily dose of cuteness?!?
The relationship between these two is all kinds of adorable - with Tala being the annoying, overbearing, protective type who loves to tease his friend about her lack of height!
I thought I’d also re share some of my favourite scenes with these two:
Keep your eyes peeled for more scenes between these two.
As Steph rummaged through her pockets for the keys to the Jeep, she caught him staring at the motorcycle he had pointed out earlier. “Don’t
“I was eight,” he said finally, and he turned to look at her, his blue eyes cold and calculating. “I was eight years old when my father died
My first post for #mayblade - the prompt was unpopular character so I decided to finish a scene from NSNV’s third chapter! Without further
Digiweek Day 5 Part 2
@digiweek At last, the long awaited crossover piece. This was from a fanfic I wrote over Nano last year for a Christmas challenge for the Beyblade fandom.
A little context here: Digimon was the first fandom I created my OCs Steph and Becky for, and subsequently wrote MattxOC pretty much exclusively from then on. This proved problematic when I moved over to the beyblade fandom and my OC crossed over with me. What would I do about her character relationships? Would I have to start them all from scratch. Instead, with a friend, I came up with a solution - the rest of the franchise would just have to come with me, specifically Matt. Both characters went through a lot of revisions to fit into a second fandom, but the crux of their story is still the same.
In this piece that I’m sharing today, we see Yamato interact with both Kai Hiwatari and Daichi, and the hilarity that follows.
Some important things to note about our lovely Yamato in this universe; he is the grandson of BBA Chairman, but the two are estranged following Natsuko and Hiroaki’s divorce. He’s still very much traumatised by the divorce and he hasn’t had a year in the Digiworld to come to terms with it.
And this without further ado, I give you:

Steph looked up to see Kai, as punctual as ever, waiting for Becky at the Dojo gates. He wasn’t alone though; a familiar silhouette stood beside him. Her heart skipped a beat when she saw him, conversing casually with her captain as the two of them entered the Dojo grounds.
They hadn’t seen her yet, so she still had time to dart back inside if she wanted to, but something kept her rooted to the spot. Beside her, she could feel Becky’s excitement building. It was obvious that her cousin was up to something, and Steph couldn’t be sure, but she had a feeling her boyfriend was in on it too.
A little KaixBecky to celebrate the end of Mayblade. It’s been a wild ride, but I’ve absolutely loved it. Looking forward to sharing what I’ve worked on with some NSNV updates soon!

The Saint Shields were rarely given permission to travel abroad - the last time they had been sent on assignment, it had been to seal away the four sacred spirits.
“Something’s happened, hasn’t it?”
Mariam, who was watching two seagulls fighting over a fried chip with some amusement, shrugged her shoulders.
“I don’t know,” she admitted. “Nothing specific anyway, but I can sense Sharkrash has been uneasy lately - unsettled almost. It might mean that - ”
“That the sacred spirits are in danger once again,” Steph guessed.
