A big part of who I am lives in what I don’t say, in the quiet things I keep to myself, where words would feel too loud or too small.
Not everything needs to be spoken to be real. Some parts of me just exist, softly, in silence.
In a fit of whimsy after reading @copperbadge's The Chicken Salad War, I went ahead and made myself some good ol' Dirt Cake!
I have fond memories of this being my favorite dessert as a child, available only from That One Restaurant of which I remember nothing other than my love for its kid-perfect dessert of pudding, oreos, and gummi worms. I haven't had it since, but armed with a chocolate pudding recipe and a pack of oreos and gummi worms, I was able to relive a piece of my childhood, and you know what? It's still pretty good!
Progress :3
I love the lilac motif in Nosferatu for a rather silly reason.
They're such a prominent symbol of spring and love in Romanian culture. It's not something traditional necessarily, just popular among the general population, especially with the older generations.
Everyone had and still has a lilac bush in their garden and it was oftentimes the most beloved tree and that short window of time when the blooms were opened was a small local celebration.
My grandfather was a painter and just like any Romanian painter, big and small, from the past, he also painted a bunch of lilac flowers in a vase.
So yes, the count having a strong memory of lilacs is such a relatable thing for most of us here, I believe.
Such little details always move me more even than the fact that for once they researched language and old local rulers for this particular vampire movie. <3
