KRISTEN I'm so sad that tumblr took replies from us so I can't lowkey yell at you about Coat of Many Colors and how it was so great and tender and how I wanted to adopt Judy Ogle and how STELLA WAS THE FUCKING BEST.
STEPHANIE DID YOU KNOW THE LADY FROM THE STORE IS ACTUAL STELLA? I was like “Thaaaat lady’s voice sounds like Dolly’s, I better look this up.” Anyway, so, my grandma refused to watch this movie because she hates Jennifer Nettles (who I know nothing about because I don’t know country music past the 90s when I was riding in my grandma’s car everywhere) but I liked her face very much. Team Avie Lee, get outta here Ricky Schroder if you’re gonna be hateful. And baby Dolly was SO PRECIOUS. Grandma missed out.
Anyway standing invitation to any of my friends to come visit me if you want me to take you to Dollywood.

I could say so many wonderful things about my mother, but I think the most inspiring thing about her is her resilience.
BROWN: What is something whose beauty you feel is underestimated?
This is such a difficult question, because I honestly believe that beauty can be found in everything and that all beauty is appreciated–it’s just a matter of finding those souls who look at that particular thing in that particular way.
ORANGE: What is a vivid positive memory you have?
2003, it is the middle of the night, but the lights and sounds and heat of New Orleans are flooding in through the large windows. 2005, I am a teenager for a few months, finally, as I sit in the passenger seat of a car, and I feel alive and invincible as we race through the streets. 2009, we talk until the sun sets–we barely realize we are sitting in the dark. 2014, the sun is out and the air is hot and dry, but the car is air conditioned and comfortable and there are miles and miles of highway in front of us, an entire adventure waiting.
