Unlike most of the young Hegelians he was hanging out with in the Berlin Beerhalls of the 1840's, Saint Max, as Marx and Engels called Stirner, only managed to publish one book of his own, but it ended up saying what few other philosophers, politicians or teachers of his day dared to say. It suggested that the world as we know it is made up. "Truth" is really nothing but an elaborate hoax– a myth. What's more, Stirner suggested that if the world is in fact constructed, it can also be deconstructed and rebuilt into an image of your own.
