Beyond Proof
To ask science for proof or confirmation of anything is a sell-out. Anyone’s claim of objectivity is the foundation for power games. It entails a claim on truth, at least to know what truth is about and where it is to be found … Truth would be absolute and won’t allow doubt. So any claim on it inevitably leads to totalitarianism. Two of the Occident‘s most brilliant philosophers ended up justifying the regime of the absolute: Plato and Hegel … History and experience have proven time and again that any idea of truth is temporary, an expression of man’s current state of knowledge. Yet it is being enforced by ignoring and suppressing doubt and questions that don’t comply with the currently agreed upon set of assumptions ... The term tempos within contemporary says it is a sign and expression of its time. But truth, if it exists, would have to be eternal and all-pervading, independent of assumptions … Being eternal, truth has no need for power games. If there were need for proof of what truth is, then it would be in its abstinence from power games, and from asking for proof. Truth need not fear controversy, but it won‘t fight. Power tries to control our minds. Truth, being eternal, can wait, biding its time. Why truth is found in peace ... Science, to secure funding, sells out to whoever is in power. It‘s bias depends on who‘s paying the bills. Could be Nazis, communists, the Vatican, the CIA or any other more or less illegal organisation. Just anyone with enough money to spend ... Instead of waiting for or asking anyone to tell us what to do, what to believe in and where to go, we need to take risks and go beyond proof. Moving beyond the grid of logic and common sense which got us trapped where we currently are ... How about dreaming? Tuning in to the child we once had been. Get surreal instead of real. Instead of a culture of fun, try for joy that‘s born from and rooted in the heart. Laughter that is kind and gentle instead of hysterical and drunk ... Reaching out to help instead of fighting, we may learn to trust and grow on our compassion for others. Would be a lot more brave, courageous and heroic than being inconsiderate alpha animals, wouldn‘t it? And on what to found our trust but on faith? On what to found our faith but on the idea of karma? With our thoughts, behavior and actions we will write the program of our future lives, as well as that of our present one. Which means we are the masters of our destiny, whether we acknowledge it or not …
