1.) Favorite color of the sky? Any reason why?
I love when the sky is darkened with storm clouds, especially if the foliage below is all lit up. I adore that contrast! Seeing that kind of thing makes me feel so alive.
2.) Do you have a favorite star?
Not in particular--I don’t know astronomy all that well, admittedly. I do always look for the Big Dipper when I’m looking at the stars, though!
3.) Opinion on fishes?
I love them! They’re diverse and interesting and often cute or beautiful. I want go snorkeling in a reef again, it’s been too long... I grew up with a near-constant small freshwater aquarium, too, cared for by my dad. I have fond memories of the fish we had through the years, and some lived for quite a long time. Now he only has a betta, but I like visiting the betta nonetheless. I do not eat fish.
4.) …Do you have a favorite stone? (Rocks, gems, statues, fossils…?)
My favorite type of stone is probably opal! I love the way they shimmer, it’s truly beautiful. I also like aquamarines and moonstones a lot, among many others.
5.) Favorite style (of things in general or anything you like a style of)?
As far as art goes, I especially love the art of Toshihiro Kawamoto and Range Murata and Sushio and Yoh Yoshinari! I also love a lot of the the Pokémon merchandise art styles, like the ITS’ DEMO stuff, PMD promotional art, and way more than I can think of right now.
6.) What do you imagine your mindscape would be like, if you could look in?
I’m not sure what is meant entirely by this question, but... I’m interpreting it right, I believe it would be filled with fantastical, beautiful natural scenery, and lots of different bodies of water, and many animals/creatures. Probably lots of Pokémon and birds and corgis in particular.
7.) Flight: freedom or fear?
Well, if I could fly like a bird that would be amazing! And very freeing. I used to dream about it a lot. Flying in an airplane is also freeing in a way (because you’re going somewhere different), but the actual act of being in an airplane is pretty much the opposite of freedom, LOL.
8.) Something you’re sick of?
Waking up early, and the cruelty of my own species towards each other and other species.
9.) Something you’re very proud of?
I spent hours yesterday doing bumblefoot surgery on my hen Yona all by myself, even though it was bloody and kinda traumatic and I’m not certain if I got all of the infected tissue. But she’s doing well today and the wounds look better and cleaner than I expected. I’m glad I managed to do it even though it was tough emotionally. Fingers crossed that it will heal nicely.
10.) Is there someplace you wish you’d never gone?
Not that I can think of offhand. Most of my regrets are more related to actions I’ve made than places I’ve been.
11.) “And I wonder if she dreamed like me.” What does that line make you think of?
Hmmm, I dunno. Sounds like a line from a book or movie or song?
