Winter to Spring: Finding Light in the Darkest Season
THE WEIGHT OF WINTER
These past few months have been heavy. The kind of heavy that settles into your bones when the days grow short and the world seems to pause under layers of frost and silence. Winter has a way of magnifying everything we’re struggling with—the darkness outside mirrors the darkness we sometimes feel within. Seasonal depression is real, and if you’re reading this, you know exactly what I mean.
The mornings came too late. The evenings arrived too early. And somewhere in between, it felt like the world forgot how to be warm.
FINDING SMALL LIGHTS
But here's what I've learned: even in the longest winter, there are moments of light. Maybe it was a sunrise that lasted a few extra seconds. A conversation with someone who really listened. A song that made you feel less alone. A warm drink held between cold hands. A blanket. A laugh.
“The nights are longest just before dawn breaks. You're doing so much better than you think you are. Be gentle with yourself.”
These small moments aren't just distractions; they're proof that joy still exists, that warmth is real, and that it's always worth holding on for what comes next.
SPRING IS COMING
And now I can feel it. That subtle shift in the air. The days are getting longer. Buds are forming on branches that looked dead just weeks ago. The world is waking up, and so am I.
Spring isn't just a season—it's a promise. A promise that nothing stays dark forever. That renewal is always possible. That after the hardest parts, something beautiful grows back.
I'm looking forward to the warm sun on my face. To flowers blooming in colours I forgot existed. To feel my energy return as the days grow longer. To fresh starts and new growth. But most of all, I'm grateful for making it through.
TO YOU, FRIEND
If you're still in the thick of winter, whether it's the season or something internal, I want you to know: you're not alone in this. Your struggle is real, but so is your strength.
Keep looking for those small lights. Hold tight to the people who warm your heart. Be patient with yourself. And trust that spring, in whatever form it takes for you, is on its way.
Smile and stay positive, my friends. We've got this. 🌱
