Now that the holidays are over, I can share pictures of all the Christmas presents I made for friends and family (…and myself). I was able to work a lot quicker than I usually do because I already had ideas in mind: I believe I made four pieces of jewelry in four days.
I also incorporated colored stones that I never used before into my work, which was a nice change of pace from the “brass and white” palette I used all semester. Coordinating stones with different metals brings a whole new set of challenges to designing a piece of jewelry, but it was a fun exercise. I especially love how the brass wire in the pendant I made complements the flecks of gold in the denim lapis lazuli cabochon- unfortunately that effect was hard to capture in photos.
I got great feedback on these pieces, so I look forward to creating more to sell in the future!
