A Victorian gold and turquoise serpent necklace, the flexible tapering yellow gold body formed of three rows of scale-like collets each set with a round cabochon-cut turquoise, the head encrusted with cabochon-cut turquoises of various shapes, the brows set with rose-cut diamonds and the eyes with cabochon-cut garnets, all mounted in yellow gold, ca. 1840.
Moonstone Round Cabochons
The Sea Turtle brooch from Blue Book 2025: Sea of Wonder shows the grace of the creature. Centered by aquamarine and adorned with cabochon turquoise, cabochon sapphires and round brilliant diamonds, it shows the House’s devotion to crafting masterpiece.
Tiffany & Co
Nice Laguna half with clean white to gray concentric banding and those characteristic dark outer zones with rust inclusions. The polish brings out subtle translucency in the fine layers, and you can see the natural flow patterns where the silica deposited. This one found a good collector! 🏔️
cabochon charms are my current addiction 🩷🩷🌸🌸
I finished another thing ^^
Actually, I finished a load of other things.
Cutting the center was a pain in the ass, but the rest was fine, plus I got to finally use some of those duo beads i've had for ages. I weaved the structure before stitching it to the felt. The spikes aren't entirely successful tho, but heh it's fine. The dagger beads do make a nice repeat pattern with the center of the eye.
Now, if I wanted to turn this into a brooch, I'm not sure where it would be wiser to stick the brooch clasp. Probably the top tho. The little orange beads are carnelians. The rest is just glass beads, nylon beading thread, glass and paper eye cabochon, fairly stiff felt as backing substrate and some ultra-suede for the backing… I didn't have black backing, but it still looks okay. I used orange thread to stitch the carnelians in, I didn't want black thread to lessen their color since some of them are quite transparent, and the black thread shows in some of the beads I used for the border of the bottom of the eye. All in all, i'm very happy with it :D
Another fanmade design I made, meet Crestal! 💎
