Task One: Living conditions
"Well, we live in a apartment in the center of the city. It's easier for both of us to access our working places and it's easier to meet new people that way. Though it's a bit too loud for my taste sometimes, I don't like falling asleep to passing cars, but you get used to it after a while. We live on the third floor, apartment number 88. The thought of buying a house has crossed our minds once or twice, but there's no need for one as for now since a house for two people is simply a waste of money and space.
Under the cut are a few questions your character can answer.
Your real name: Hector Mundis/ Hercules
Tell us a little about yourself! Hobbies, favorite music, favorite color, where you’re originally from, your family etc:
Hobbies... well, I like going to the gym. I have to hide my strength, at least try, all the time and it's nice to let go of it every once in a while. Not that the weights that are available there are heavy, but it's a start. Jogging is also something I enjoy, I've tried playing the guitar and even got one of those consoles everyone has been crazy about - not a good idea when you keep crushing things when it doesn't work out the way you want it to.
That's an easy one. I've totally grown to this 80's and 90's rock music. My car's covered in CD's that I listen to in the morning when I'm driving to work. Love it.
I don't think I really like a color especially. But if I had to choose a color to paint my whole place in, I'd go for green. It's such a calming color and reminds me of nature,...so yeah, I'll go for green.
Well, I'm from greek. Beautiful place as I must say, though I doubt it looks the same as it did when I used to live there. My family is kind of a touchy topic. It's not the type of family bond most people here suspect. Not really 'close' to any of them and I think my uncle hates me. Oh well.
Tell us two good traits about yourself and two bad ones:
Isn't that a question someone else is suppose to answer for me? I'm terrible at these things. I mean I'm definitely messy and I think I trust people too much. But there's something good in everyone, right? Good traits...I'm funny? Am I? People laugh, but that might as well just be at my obliviousness sometimes. Oh, I've heard people calling me charming before so I guess that's a good trait of mine too. For any further questions, please ask Meg because I'm terrible at describing myself.
What do you fear the most?:
I don't fear a lot of things. But never being able to go home is definitely one of them. While i'm also a bit afraid of the things waiting for me there. What happened while I was gone?
For how long have you been in Quebec?:
It's been three years now.
Are you happy with your life here? Do you miss your home?:
Of course I miss home, but I also like it here. I have a job I enjoy, I have a good relationship and a nice place to stay. I've been here for a while now, though I don't know if I ever want to go back home or just continue this life as it is.
Have you actually had the chance to read your own story while you’re here?:
I had! It was hilarious, they left out all the good things. Maybe because I read the children's book at school. But I've also seen the cartoon they made of me. I mean, thank you for making me look like a muscular kid with terrible hair. And Hades is not as funny as they made him to be. He'd roast everyone upon seeing himself being portraited like that.
If you had been able to meet your writer/creator, what would you tell them or ask them?:
If you were able to rewrite your story/yourself, would you? If yes, how?:
Well, that's a though one. I don't think I'd change anything about the stories people can read in books or see in movies. Things back then were a lot darker, so the image that's been passed through generations is better than what actually happened.
If you could wish for one thing, what would it be?: (no, don’t ask for more wishes)
I ...honestly don't know. I've heard something in TV where some girls answered this question holding a bouquet and crying saying they want world peace. The ones in the audience seemed to like it. So yeah, world peace.
Tell us about a memory you hold dear:
I'd love to say 'oh when I first met Meg...' but it was more of a forced wedding back then - not that I don't love her, but her father, King Creon, offered her to me as a wife after - alright it's a long story.
I have a lot of memories I hold dear. This may sound a bit..weird, but my first hot dog is something I will never forget.
Do you have any goals in life? Or dreams? Have you started to achieve them?:
Goals...hmm...I haven't really thought about this yet since I always expect to be brought back home any minute. But if we stay in this world, I'd like to keep it this way. Keep working with kids, maybe have a family of my own at some point - oh but I definitely want to travel the world at some point.
Lastly, you are stranded on an island with two people and five things for survival. What things and what people are you stuck with?:
Meg and maybe a random person to keep me company when she's having a moment. Five things for survival : A combat knife, a rope, a book about how to build a damn raft, a lighter, but one of those storm ones that still work in the rain and wind and condoms. Duh.
