I think about how much they gave to each other and how well they understood each other but how FreeSmart's hierarchal and exclusionary way of thinking kind of resulted in Book, internalizing those same habits? She expects a certain Amount of reciprocity to actions and if this is not met she starts to push people away and react with anger, like Taco (notably) and Lollipop and the rest of the team. And she starts projecting this onto Ice Cube the way Match and Pencil projected the same kind of thinking to the rest of FreeSmart, and Ice Cube still has enough sense to pull away... Idkkk just imagine being Ice Cube and so long knowing this person who knows every corner of you, every inch of you, but they begin to pull away and act like the people who had always excluded you, in a way that Book didn't really experience the same? Not to the same degree, and not to the same amount of time. Anyways yeah 💭 IceBook thoughts.
