This relates to my past tweets but i think Spotify had a very rough childhood i won’t say too much bc spoilers but he never rlly had any parents and just kinda bounced between homes which would be why he has such issues w ppl leaving and gets so upset at being lied to/disrespected
The only person who would rlly be there for him was himself so he became very protective of himself and those he trusts
( also in a irl context spotify the app has no parent company and is shared between several share holders / investers)
