Brighton Fishing Quarter Exhibition - Exhibiting Artists Round 3
We are organising 5 rotating exhibitions at this popular seaside destination, and this is our third show now... showcasing a vast array of talented local artists work. There will be an eclectic mix of contemporary and affordable arts and crafts on display, including original artwork, prints, cards, photography, ceramics, glass wear, jewellery, fashion, handmade soap and textiles.

Our third batch of artists will be on display from 2nd May - 1st June, which is a 5 week exhibition. We will be open Friday 11-4pm, and Saturday and Sunday 10-5pm, as well as bank holidays during May 10-5pm.
You can find us slap bang on Brighton Seafront in the Fisherman’s Quarter, which is on Kings Road Arches. If you are looking at the sea we are a short 5 minutes walk to the right of the Palace Pier. Lookout for the big boats outside!
Here is a rundown of the fabulous artists we have on display from this Friday onwards….
Lubilou - Lisa Gyalog makes fabulous handmade ceramic sheep, rabbits and chickens all with their own personal backstory! Lisa also makes beautiful textural decorations and homewares.
Annas Drawing Room - Anna is a talented illustrator designs intricate drawings and linocuts inspired by nature and local surroundings. Her high quality giclee prints are printed on superb textural paper and will not fade in the sunlight, and she will also have a variety of originals, lino prints, cards, stationary and tea-towels all embellished with her pretty designs.
Betty Shek - The one and only Betty Shek will be returning to our exhibition with her highly detailed and super neat hand embroidered brooches and artwork, gorgeous vintage button jewellery, and found object jewellery made from old trinkets and mechanical parts.
Mica Peet - Mica is an illustrator and all round creator of lovely things including illustrations, jewellery, phone cases, pocket mirrors and lots of other illustrated loveliness. Her design philosophy consists of juxtaposing her love of the beautiful natural world with an edgier, modern and idiosyncratic design aesthetic.
Troy Ohlson - Troy Ohlson is an award winning local artist whose work is about atmosphere, feeling and colour, and inspired by the great outdoors. As both a Painter and a Printmaker, Troy blurs the boundaries between the two, mixing media within each image; often adding collage, watercolour, acrylic, and pen & ink to her paintings, etchings and collagraphs.
Woah There Pickle - Humorous artwork by the talented Vicky Day of Woah There Pickle! Vicky creates artwork that is sure to make you smile, with her themes of work being inspired by generally silly bits and bobs, places she has been, nostalgia and iconic objects or designs. Vicky will be selling prints, cards and badges of her work.
Beach Shack Project - Beach Shack Project specializes in jewellery and homewares made from flotsam and jetsam picked up from the beach. Shells, sea pottery, sea glass, driftwood and other bits & bobs are lovingly reworked into new pieces, all with a distinct beach theme.
Iveta Goddard - Iveta is a ceramics maker and designer, working from her garden studio in West Sussex. She produces contemporary, handmade ceramic for domestic and decorative use, combining unique design ideas with traditional techniques. Her pieces depict many seaside themes, a perfect fit for our seaside gallery!
Treefrog Illustration - Jasmine Mercer from Treefrog Illustration returns with her quirky affordable illustrations, including a new sea inspired range shown here. She has illustrated many children's books and her popular artwork which features people and animals has a delightful way of telling a story through the characters in them and their interactions with each other. Cards also available.
PaperKutz - Mars Miller from Paper Kutz uses hand crafted paper cutting techniques to produce high quality unique pictures and cards. His products highlight depth of shadowing, they are intriguing, subtle but simple. Not 2d not 3d. The designs are not printed, they capture imagery through the use of negative space and shadow. Inspired by the city and ghosts from our past.
Trynka - Back again is the lovely Victoria Lloyd of Trynka, a talented jeweller creating both bold clean-lined designs and subtle textured pieces. Take some silver, some geometric shapes, smoosh them together and the result is something both elegant and impactful. Unique, simple and striking shapes that you can wear season to season.
David Bennett - David creates funky linoprints and illustrations with a cartoony edge. With a background in animation you can see how this translates easily and seamlessly into his current artwork. David will be exhibiting prints and cards of his designs.
Shabby Pop Prints - The lovely Christian from Shabby Pop Prints is back selling his very popular photography. His dreamy atmospheric pictures are cleverly printed onto wood to create a durable long lasting image. Inspired by coastal scenes, nature and interesting props, his work appeals to a wide audience of people wanting to capture a piece of the seaside to take home with them.
Baglady of Brighton - Katy creates stunning fashion, accessorizes and homewares all made from found objects and upcycled fabrics. This means no two pieces will ever be the same. Katy utilises flaws, rips, tears and rough edges adding feathers that tickle and shimmer in the light, and shells, slate, driftwood & vintage buttons are her jewels. Stitching shows the journey of her design like she’s sketching.
Naomi Frances - Naomi Frances is a talented stained glass artist working with contemporary themes and original materials. Not constricted to just using glass in her work, found objects like shells, china, watches, and even old beer bottle lids find their way into her work to create unusual special pieces.
Dinah & Co - The brilliant Dinah from Dinah & Co will be back with her pretty jewellery, ranging from hand stamped pendants, to rustic raw cut semi precious rocks to sea worn glass. She will also be showcasing her artwork at the gallery including soundwave artwork and her spirograph pieces above.
English Handmade Soap - Faith McCartney is the brains behind English Handmade Soap, which produces handmade high quality glycerine soaps which are both decorative and practical. English Handmade Soap draws on the 1950’s patterns and colour palettes for design inspiration and comes in delighful scents like rose, lemongrass and lavender.
Paul Cox - Paul is an award winning sculptor. He trained at the Royal Academy Schools, London and has been a practising artist and sculptor since 1999. He creates stunning metal work pieces for the home and garden combined with wood and found materials. His creations are beautiful and dreamy, and depict many themes of nature.
