Gaiden Dark Kingdom Fukkatsu Hen: The “Good Parts” Version
I made a file of the first Sailor Moon musical with everything I don’t like edited out for my future rewatches. I used the sub from seaofserenity.net. It’s too big to upload in this post & I don’t even want to try a video site bc I’m not sure it falls under fair use, but if you want to see it message me.
These are the things I cut:
Tuxedo Mask/Mamoru/Endymion: He’s in some scenes that were too important/good to cut, but he doesn’t do anything and no one interacts with him or mentions him.
Exception: I kept the footage of Usagi calling him the worst, with no context at all, just for fun. & he dances in the final La Soldier, which I didn’t want to cut. But he has no lines.
The Senshi/Shitennou romances: They never fell in love in the past, and the Shitennou didn’t seduce the Senshi in the present. They were just waiting for the Senshi in Beryl’s fortune-telling booth trap the whole time, in disguise because Beryl wanted to be the one to surprise them..
I couldn’t change a certain battle scene much, so it looks like Minako does easily fall for Kunzite when he pretends to repent, but it doesn’t last long.
A few minor scenes that didn’t make sense without the above

The chorus to Luna’s song. Just the chorus, because I like the verses. I would have replaced the whole song with the revised version if it was ever released. All the lyrics for this song are here.
When boyfriends are talked about as something the inners as a group, or girls in general, want
The scene with Miss Haruna. It’s not her; I just didn’t like the characterization of some of the girls here.
The bad side-effect is that some of the background music is messed up from those scenes being taken out. The good side-effect is I think it actually works as a sequel to season one of the ‘90s anime! The full musical doesn’t fit any continuity.
