Pretending to be a tourist in my own city ;) The world famous Seattle #gumwall is back .. after being rinsed away this past November . Destination "ew" seems to be everyone's place of choice to get a photo at #pikeplacemarket. Could your stomach handle a visit here? Mine a list didn't ! :0 #retro #seventies #bfwstreetstyle Tap for outfit details _____________________________________ A little history: pike place officials tried to protect the wall from gum after it started appearing their in the 1990's. People walking by to enter a,nearby comedy club ,would leave their deposit. After several cleanings , the market staff gave up ... the wall is now mentioned in tourist guidebooks all over . __________________________________ After 20 yrs 2200 lbs of sugary yuck came down with the use of rakes and water with Temps of 260 degrees farenheight. It took 3 days to remove . Although the gum threatens the integrity of the 113 yr old wall ,it's not stopping anyone! _____________________________________ (at Pike Place Market)
