“My clothes? Is that what you’ve been looking at this whole time?”

“I’ve never seen clothes that are a hundred years old, much less fifty. They’re fascinating.” Tav turned their attention to the silk. “This is original. I thought it might be. You’ve kept it out of the sun and fine spun silk lasts for centuries. Might be as old as you, depending on when the clothes were made.”

Despite himself, he sat down. “How do you know all of this?”

“Easy. I’m a weaver by choice and a bard by circumstance." -------------------------------------------------------- Astarion is interrupted by Tav one morning at camp and, after a bargain is made, discovers that after two hundred years, he is not immune to falling for his own con.

SOOOO soon! My beta reader has been away on a trip the last week. She’ll be back so soon, I promise 😭. This chapter is very very long, double the length of the previous ones. So I assure you the wait will be very worth it. In the mean timeeee, would a silly little snippet tide you over? ;)

Snippet from WHTM Chapter Seven by dogfangs

‘He’s all over you.’

‘Julien.’

‘He touched you like you're not fucking covered in me.’

Lucy stiffened and the muscles in her jaw and neck clenched. She blinked softly before placing both her hands on the mattress and starting a slow crawl over to Julien, eyes tilted upwards.

‘Then fix it,’ Lucy said, whispering quietly in Julien’s ear.

After two years of staying at Graveside, scenting Lucy was second nature to Julien. Without hesitation she took Lucy by the shoulders and tackled her to the mattress, pinning her on her back. She started with Lucy's mating gland, a light pink, pearlescent patch just below her ear in the shape of a wobbly heart. The apple of Julien’s cheek touched that first—one firm swipe over the smooth skin. Then two swipes. Then three. Next came a bite to the little heart; just a nip, nothing that would break the skin. A series of licks then, five quick little laps in eager succession. The licks travelled down the length of Lucy's neck and to the center of her throat. Julien felt Lucy swallow against her lips.

‘Mark me,’ Lucy exhaled, stifling a cough. Her hand fell over Julien’s bicep.

Julien steadied herself on her forearms, panting heavily. She stared Lucy down like she’d said something offensive.

‘For an alpha you sure do like a whelp's teeth in your neck.’

Lucy laughed breathily. ‘You gonna tell anyone?’

‘Mmm, I think the SCRW should probably hear about this,’ Julien said quietly, moving her mouth over the springy flesh of Lucy’s cheek.

‘Hey,’ Lucy giggled, ‘you mean to tell me you don’t feel like a safe, controlled, and rehabilitated wolf right now?’

Julien rolled her eyes. ‘I barely feel like a wolf, let’s start there.’

A sad smile spread over Lucy’s lips. She blinked up at Julien, silently asking her for something.

‘What do you want?’ Julien asked.

‘You know,’ Lucy said, smiling.

‘You really want me to mark you?’

Lucy feigned contemplation and shrugged.

‘A little.’

Julien blew hair out of her face and rolled Lucy onto her stomach. She climbed on top of her and straddled her just below her ass, then bunched up her hair in one hand, clawing up stray pieces with the other. A strong waft of burnt pine brushed under Julien’s nose and she had to pause, resting her hands against the lower flat of Lucy’s back for support. Julien felt her breath leave her through her teeth, and she dug her nails into Lucy’s skin.

‘Fuck,’ Lucy let out softly, ‘Julien?’

‘Sorry,’ Julien said, ‘Just gathering myself.’

A grumbly, worried sort of noise escaped Lucy. ’Hey, you don’t have to do this if it’s a lot,’ Lucy said, craning her chin over her shoulder.

Julien scrunched Lucy’s hair in her fist and shoved her back down into the mattress, growling deep in her throat.

‘An alpha gets what an alpha wants.’

Lucy let out a whiney groan and arched herself back into Julien’s body. Julien returned the motion with a tentative grind against Lucy’s ass over her jeans, relishing the friction against her rising clit through her boxers.

‘Julien,’ Lucy drew out, ‘mark me. Scent me. Wanna be yours.’

Julien moved herself against Lucy’s ass again, taking her pleasure greedily—guiltily.

‘One more time. What do you want?’

Lucy gave Julien’s pelvis another needy grind, burying her face in the sheets to stifle a moan. When she lifted her head she was out of breath.

‘Mark. Me.’
