Not exactly new but I ran out of time to make something before the 8th so here ya go *tosses this thing on your desk*
When Astarion, newly ascended, offered to change his lover Tav into a vampire, she declined. Denied power. Denied riches. Denied influence. Denied eternity.
Denied him.
His lip twitched in annoyance.
But then she clarified, “I don't mean forever.”
She fidgeted nervously, eyes trained on her claw-tipped hands, forked tail swishing to and fro. Astarion didn't think he had ever seen her so insecure. Despite her usual gentle demeanor, she looked uncharacteristically out of place in the opulent mansion sitting room. She turned her gaze up to meet his, her jet black sclera making her blue irises all the more vivid.
“When you turn, your body stops changing, right?” she asked.
“Yes, my dear,” Astarion confirmed, reaching out to gently run his fingertips along her delicate jaw line. “Nothing will change. You'll never age or grow sick.”
Tav reached up to softly lay her hand over his. Her supple skin felt so nice. A wave of contentment washed through Astarion. Where she used to feel almost burning hot against his undead flesh, now that his body heat had returned she felt comfortable, inviting and warm.
Tav pressed her cheek against his palm as if for reassurance. Her eyes flitted away and back again, “That's not what I mean. Not entirely.”
Astarion tilted his head but did not interrupt.
“If I'm… stuck… like this… I'll always be, well, like this.”
“I'm not sure I understand,” Astarion admitted. “What do you mean, ‘like this?’ You're perfect.”
A hint of a smile danced on her lips and her grip on his hand tightened minutely. “You're always so sweet to me,” she murmured.
Before Astarion could reply she continued, “And I appreciate that sweetness, I really do. You make me happy, and there's nothing more that I would like than to share eternity with you.
“But…”
“But?”
“If I'm turned and can never change, that means. Well… that means that this-” she used her free hand to motion vaguely to her body, “will never change.”
“Darling, I don't-”
“I want to lose weight first. Before you turn me.”
Astarion laughed outright. He used both hands to gesture along her bodyline, “What is there to lose? Your body is positively delicious.”
Another smile, weaker this time, touched her lips. She wrapped her arms around her midsection as if protecting herself from being seen. Tav turned her eyes to stare at the floor and her tail thrashed harder, “I know this is hard for you - especially you - to understand. Your body has been so effortlessly perfect for so long. I'm sure you don't remember the pains of exercise. Of dieting. Now that you can see your reflection you don't frown at every glimpse of a mirror or window. You don't look at yourself and see nothing but… ugly… grotesque… f-...”
Her voice trailed off, thick with sadness, frustration, fear.
Fear? What was there to fear? Astarion stared at her, turning her words over in his mind. When he looked at her, he didn't see any of that. He saw the lovely young tiefling that she was - petite, soft from a life spent in libraries leafing through magical tomes. Dark blue skin, corkscrew horns that were black at the base and chilled to a blue similar to her eyes at the tips. She wore her raven-black hair loose and curly down her back. He saw no ugliness, nothing grotesque, she certainly couldn't be considered overweight.
“You're not-”
Tav shook her head, “Please, Astarion, don't. I know what you're going to say. Everyone says it. It doesn't change what I see when I look at myself.”
A moment of quiet passed between them. Tav's tail coiled around her left leg. Astarion wanted to reach out to her, touch her arm and reassure her that she was perfection incarnate, but he knew arguing the point wouldn't change her mind. They had been together over their journey long enough for him to know how stubborn she could be.
“How can I help?” he finally asked.
Tav met his eyes again, her body still tense. She bit her lip, her rigid fingers gripping her upper arms.
This time Astarion did reach out. He pulled her toward himself, wrapped his arms around her, held her firmly against his chest. He pressed a kiss to the top of her head and when he spoke his voice was muffled by her hair, “Tell me what you need. You trusted me to drink from you. To keep The Necromancy of Thay. You understood my feelings about Cazador and the ritual. You helped me when I needed it most. My sweetest treasure, you saved me. So many times.
“I won't disagree with you. I won't fight with you about how you feel. Just tell me how I can help.”
Tav's arms came to hook around Astarion's waist and squeeze. Her words tumbled out almost unintelligibly, “Iwantyoutocoachme.”
Astarion blinked in confusion and pulled back just enough to look into her almond-shaped eyes, “What?”
Tav squirmed under his gaze, her arms wrapping tighter around his waist, “I want you to… to coach me. I want you to measure me every morning - my arms, my legs, chest, hips, waist. Everything. And, well, write it down.
“I want you to prepare my food. Pick when I eat, what I eat. Weigh every meal. I only want tiny amounts - nothing larger than would fit into a palm.”
She shook her head adamantly, “Nothing fatty or sweet. No bread or sugar or red meat.
“You can't let me cheat. It doesn't matter how much I beg or cry about being hungry, don't feed me extra.”
Astarion didn't move. He stared down at her, his lips a tight line as his eyes filled with disbelief and bitterness.
“I'm-” he forced from between clenched teeth. “I'm not like Cazador. I would never starve you.”
“This is nothing like what he did to you, I promise.”
“Yes it is!” Astarion snapped, taking a step back. He pressed his hand to his chest, pain and growing anger clear in the timbre of his voice, “Is that what you think of me? What you think I'm like? Just another Cazador?”
“Of course not!” Tav insisted, stepping forward to grab Astarion by his wrist. “You're nothing like him, I would never say something like that about you. Never.
“This is different, I mean it. It's different because I'm asking you to do it. You have my complete, unwavering consent. If it's too much for me I'll tell you when I need to stop. If it upsets you too much, you can stop. We both have a choice. That's what makes it different.”
Tav took another short step forward, a gentle sashay that made the flowing black gown Astarion had chosen for her to wear that morning whisper from her movements. She reached up to cup his cheeks with her soft hands and looked deeply into his eyes, “I trust you. That's why it has to be you - no one else cares enough for me to do this right. And besides…”
She smirked coyly, “Don't you think you'd enjoy it? Just a little? To have power over everything in this world… Even me? Down to the smallest intricacies, something as simple as the food I'm allowed to eat, and when I'm allowed to eat it?”
Astarion's ruby eyes flashed at the idea, his expression moving from animus to intrigue. The look quickly faded. He pushed out of Tav's hold.
A long, tense moment passed.
“Leave me.”
Tav stepped back, arms crossing over her abdomen again, tail still wrapped around her leg. She hated how he refused to look at her. “I'm sorry, I-”
“Leave me,” Astarion hissed with asperity.
Tav fell quiet. She stood there a moment longer, then turned to hurry out of the room.
In the first few weeks after taking his rightful ownership of Cazador's palace, Astarion started a plethora of renovation projects. He had his servants, living and undead, add a larder, pantry, a kitchen with a cellar, and a grand dining room. Windows were installed with the directions of sunset and sunrise in mind, angled to allow for as much light as possible to brighten the dreary place.
Tav had frowned when she saw the construction, “Isn't this a little… extravagant?”
“There isn't anything too grand for my darling and I,” Astarion replied, watching as a wall was loudly battered down.
“They're breaking the house!” Tav cried.
“They're making it better. Making it ours.” He gestured to the crumbled wall, “I'm thinking about adding a domed window here, above an alcove. Would you like that?”
“Can we have plants?”
“Plants don't do well around vampires, unfortunately.”
“Maybe you're different?” Tav suggested, pressing her hands together, tail swishing hopefully. “I'd love to keep flowers.”
Astarion chuckled, folding his arms behind his back, “Perhaps I am different, that is a very good point. We can try.”
“Thank you!” Tav chirped, softly clapping her hands in excitement. Given enough time, she could grow a sprawling garden. She pictured it: the palace decorated by a plethora of greenery. Shade-casting trees, neatly trimmed shrubbery, dainty flowers in every color. It was a wonderful goal for her to work toward.
“There's no need to thank me,” Astarion said as he reached out to take her hand and lift the back to his lips. He pressed a kiss to the smooth skin, “If I could, I would pluck each star from the sky just for you. I'd do anything to make you happy, if only you asked.”
Tav wished she could go back to those carefree times. She released a quiet sigh. Ever since she gave Astarion her proposal he had been distant. Right then they were in the dining room, Astarion at the head of the long table, Tav nearby to his right. The room was uncomfortably quiet.
Astarion took a sip from his goblet. Blood kept warm with simple magic. Tav's cup had a fine red wine.
Tav poked at her food. Cut the meat, seasoned potatoes, and vegetables into tiny pieces and shifted them around on her plate. The tip of her tail twitched nervously.
Astarion noticed her discomfort but said nothing. He just sipped his blood, so warm and thick it tasted almost fresh. Tav had always cut her food like that - small bits that she would push and drag across her dish. He'd noticed her not-so-dexterously sliding some of her meals into her handkerchief and pushing it into her pocket.
He'd always assumed it was something magic-related. Apparently he was wrong.
He sipped his drink.
She had asked him to starve her. Astarion's grip tightened on his goblet. She should have known the feelings such a request would bring up in him. The fact that she thought her words wouldn't hurt him… or she didn't care…
The pain shifted quickly into buzzing anger. He was nothing like Cazador. Just because he was a full vampire now - beyond something so unexceptional, even - it didn't mean all vampires were the same endlessly traced outline of interchangeable bastards.
Whatever had happened to his dearly departed “master” to make him the way he was, assuming he had ever been even the slightest amount sweet, did not reflect on Astarion. To have it implied that it did was the deepest insult.
He put her rude request aside in his mind and glanced at her – he did enjoy how small she was. Her petite stature, juxtaposed with her aggressive stance when he first threatened her by the roadside, had initially amused him. As they traveled, he started to note the beauty in wielding so much power despite such physical frailty.
She was short, the top of her head (horns excluded) only coming up to the middle of his chest, with thin, elegant bone structure that made her seem ethereal. Even if he didn't have his enhanced strength, scooping her into his arms was like lifting nothing at all. He found it very cute. Perhaps even a touch exciting.
Her modest breasts, thin thighs, flat stomach. Once again he struggled to understand what she saw when she looked at herself. What was there even to lose? Where was the monster that she insisted clung to her?
He took a small bite of his nearly raw steak, chewing slowly and deliberately so he could savor every flavorful moment. She had asked him to take this from her. Nourishment. Sustenance. The basic enjoyment of consumption was apparently lost on her, replaced by, judging from her eating habits, anxiety and distaste.
Astarion tried to picture her thinner. How her ribs would become more pronounced. The ridges of her spine, a long line trailing from the base of her neck and down to the tip of her forked tail, would become sharper. More emphasized. Her hip bones would push against her sapphire flesh, sharp yet delicate. That already tiny waist would surely fit even more easily in his arms. Maybe he could even wrap his hands completely around the circumference at some point.
The idea sent an unexpected thrill through him. She hadn't been wrong – he did love power. And he had it in droves, but he didn't exercise it against his dear soon-to-be consort. She was too important and cherished to control, subjugate, dominate.
Unless she asked him for it in their bedchambers, of course. He chuckled softly to himself. That cheeky girl loved to excite him in the best of ways.
“Something on your mind?” Tav asked, taking a break from pushing her meal around her plate.
“It's nothing,” Astarion replied, casting her a small smile. He turned his attention back to his goblet and took a sip. Food and wine were wonderful, but blood remained absolutely divine on his palate. This particular cup was rich and full-bodied, the flavor of the person's final emotions - warm contentment - exceedingly delicious.
After two centuries, he'd finally learned some part of why Cazador used to make his slaves sexually attend to his intended meals - he must have been fond of the flavor of mortal arousal. Personally Astarion found it too strong of a taste, but every vampire had their preferences.
“I'm done,” Tav announced, dropping her napkin over her nearly full plate. “I'll cast a cooling spell on it and put the rest into the cellar for later.”
Astarion looked at her with an impassive expression. He took another drink of blood, savored the taste before he swallowed, and then said, “Now, darling, we both know that isn't true.”
“What?” Tav asked, plate held in her hands.
“You plan to throw it out, right? When you think I won't notice?”
Tav blinked, opened her mouth to contest his assertion, then closed it again. She let out a soft sigh and when she spoke it was nearly a whisper, “I don't like to waste food so I give it to the beggars in the area.”
“That's very generous,” Astarion said, half an honest assessment, half disappointed to have his assumptions about her refusal to eat a full meal confirmed.
“I'll be using the bath later. If you'd like to join me I wouldn't complain,” Tav offered.
“We'll see.”
Tav stood there a moment longer, her tail snaking around her left leg. After a while she gave a short nod and turned to leave.
The room was left quiet but for the occasional sound of Astarion's cutlery clanking softly against his plate. He ate slowly, almost reverential in each bite, as if he feared this was the final satisfying meal he would ever be allowed to enjoy.
Food and drink were so heavenly and yet she rejected them. As hard as he tried, he couldn't understand. Even if she did gain a few kilos, it wouldn't make her any less beautiful. Nobody would think lowly of her.
But maybe he didn't need to understand, he considered. Others didn't understand why he needed to ascend - it wasn’t simply fear, or ego, or an insatiable hunger for power. Nobody understood that usurping Cazador was such an important aspect. Snatching his old master's life's work from under his nose mere moments from what would have been that insane bastard's ultimate victory. Taking everything Cazador had ever earned, ever gained, for himself. Dismantling him, his legacy, wiping him from history completely. It was Astarion's perfect revenge.
No one understood. Not even Tav. Not really. And yet she had helped him without a moment's hesitation. She trusted that he knew what he needed, that he ultimately knew what was best for himself over anyone else.
Astarion swallowed the last of his blood and set the goblet onto the table. Maybe that's all she needed. Someone to trust her to know herself.
Tav reclined in the large, magically-heated master bath, submerged in the steaming, rose-scented water up to her chin. The room was all black marble, red silks, and golden filigree, lit by flickering candlelight. Tav had asked why Astarion chose not to add any windows to this room when he had already put so many into the palace.
He had simply chuckled and said, “It's called ‘atmosphere,’ darling.”
Tav let out a soft sigh. She missed him. Her plea for Astarion's aid had backfired spectacularly. She knew it had been a foolish attempt before she even tried, but when he offered her immortality she knew it was then or never.
If she just had a little more time she could reach her goal on her own. She had already lost weight along her and her friends’ adventure. She could do it herself, she knew she had the willpower. But if she had someone to help her, someone to make her stay on track, it would go faster. More smoothly. There would be no way for her to sneak in a cheat meal.
Tav's fingertips slid through the water to run over the dip of her soft, flat stomach. It growled, angry at missing yet another dinner, audible even underwater. Tav smiled softly. There was definitely a change from where she was when her ordeal with the brain began.
But that smile faded as quickly as it came. The first touch had made her feel strong, pretty, in control. But the longer her hand rested against her own body, the more she could feel it. Areas that squished when she pressed against them. That soft give under her skin that made her cringe.
Her eyes burned with unshed tears. Initially she had been disappointed when Astarion hadn't agreed to join her in the bath, but now she was glad he wasn't there. She hated the idea of him seeing her naked, with all of her ugliness on glaring display.
The echoing sound of water blended with Tav's quiet tears.
The sound of the washroom door opening made her jump. She pulled her hand away from her stomach as if she had been caught doing something wrong.
“You decided to join me,” Tav said gently while she wiped the tears from her cheeks.
“I've missed this. Missed us,” Astarion confessed, starting to pull his shirt smoothly over his head. Tav watched him strip, her gaze running over his body. He was always so handsome. Tav closed her eyes and took a deep breath - she needed to relax.
She looked at him again. Everything he did was elegant. Even before, when they were preoccupied with the tadpoles (those days felt like they were so long ago), he had been refined and dexterous. But now, post-ascension, he moved with a grace that wasn't of their plane. The more he came to understand the extent of his new powers, the more otherworldly he became. His steps made no sound, the subtle aroma of death that he had once disguised with perfumes and oils was gone, his movements were effortlessly graceful.
Tav dropped her gaze. It wasn't like she never saw him nude - quite the opposite - but she felt guilty thinking how pretty he was when she had been so hurtful not long before.
Astarion set his folded clothes on a counter, then walked down the shallow set of stairs into the luxurious tub. He shifted to sit beside Tav on the carved ledge that ran the bath's circumference.
“Your cheeks are a lovely shade when you blush, my dear,” Astarion mused. “Is the water too hot for you? Or could it be…?” he questioned cheekily, resting his arm around her shoulders.
As if he didn't already know the answer. Regardless, he never tired of hearing her say it. He leaned toward her, anticipating her response.
Tav bridged the gap to kiss him. Astarion chuckled against her lips and pulled away. “Is that how we get what we want?” he chastised gently.
Tav clasped her hands together and looked up at him with exaggerated puppy eyes, “May I have a kiss?”
“May you have a kiss what…?” Astarion smirked.
Tav leaned in to bump the tips of their noses softly together. “May I have a kiss my lord,” she corrected.
“Good girl,” Astarion purred. He lifted his hand, warm and wet from the bath, and stroked his nails gently down the side of her neck. He crossed the space separating them, catching his lover's soft lips against his own.
She sighed into the kiss. He had been avoiding her and it felt like so long since she'd enjoyed this. She placed her wet hands on his arm, scooting closer as he dipped his tongue into her mouth.
Tav let out a startled noise against his lips when Astarion cupped his hands under her and lifted her to sit on his lap. Her surprise quickly dissipated and Tav pressed herself against him, wrapping her arms around the back of his neck.
Astarion let his hands wander over her water-heated skin. He considered how slight she was. Already petite, the dresses he bought or made for her always trended small. He ran his flat palms down her sides, noted her ribs. Down to the bumps of her hips.
What was there left to lose?
Tav leaned herself further against him, tiny breasts pressing on his chest. She rolled her tongue against his. The copper flavor of blood left over from his dinner wasn't particularly appetizing but she enjoyed him all the same.
Inspired by it, she intentionally dragged her tongue across Astarion's fang, slitting the skin just enough for him to taste her. Astarion let out a pleased hum, enjoying her flavor, and gently squeezed the base of her tail. Tav moaned, hips jerking, the tip of her tail twitching like an agitated cat.
His free hand moved down to stroke over the tight pucker of her ass. Tav jumped again, surprised by the touch.
“There?” she asked.
“Why not?” he responded in a playful, yet authoritative, tone. Tav knew there would be no negotiating, it was this or no sex at all. She didn't mind. His wants, even if they were simple, fleeting whims, were more important to her than which hole they used.
Tav let out a pleased noise when he returned to teasing her ass and tail. Astarion loved how expressive she was; the way her tail shivered and jerked, her hips gently rocking, rubbing herself against his growing hardness, were undeniable tells that she enjoyed his attention.
Astarion pulled his hand out of the water and, holding Tav's gaze, he slipped his middle finger into his mouth to lick it wet. He dipped his hand back into the water to press the slick digit to her hole and push. Saliva wasn't a good lubricant, but it was better than water alone.
Tav let out a soft noise that was a blend of discomfort and pleasure.
“Relax,” he murmured. His finger breached her and Tav's body tensed. Astarion leaned forward to kiss her shoulders and neck. “Ssh, ssh, ssh, it's okay,” he whispered, warm breath ghosting over her damp skin. His finger started to slide in and out.
Tav forced herself to release the breath she had been holding. She went in for a kiss, something nice to distract her from the discomfort.
Astarion turned his face away.
Tav let out an annoyed huff, “What?”
Only Astarion's eyes moved when he looked at her, lips quirked into a teasing smile, “Is that how we get what we want?”
“You've got to be kidding meee–” she yelped when he pushed a second finger into her. He kept his face turned away, gazing at a random spot on the ceiling as if it were interesting.
“May I have a kiss, my lord,” Tav requested, voice heavy with a very artificial tone of reverence. Having to ask wasn't the bothersome part. Sometimes he would be so sex-repulsed a simple kiss could set him off. She wanted to avoid that, as much as she felt his consent was implied in the current situation.
Referring to him as “my lord” had been his ridiculous idea. Sometimes such play was entertaining, but right now she was too impatient to jump through his dramatic hoops.
“Good girl,” Astarion smirked, leaning forward to kiss her. Tav made an eager little sound when his tongue dipped into her mouth. His fingers hadn't stopped preparing her, easily sinking to the second knuckle.
Tav shivered, her tail swinging in a wide arc that splashed water onto the floor.
“You're making a mess. Think of the help,” Astarion chided against her lips.
“S-sorry,” Tav said in a shaky voice. If she wasn't already in water she was sure she would feel she was wet by now.
She made a quiet, surprised sound when he pushed her hips up out of the water. Lubricants wouldn't work if they tried to use them underwater, she thought. Astarion raised himself up as well, his heated tip sliding against her ass.
“No!” Tav snapped, disgusted, when he spat into his hand. A little to get her started was fine, but this much was just gross.
“No?” Astarion asked as he ran the saliva on his fingers around his tip. He took her hips in his hands and adjusted her over himself. “You want to stop? Just tell me and we'll stop,” he said. Despite rubbing himself against her small entrance, his tone was genuine. She knew he would never make her do something she didn't want.
Tav pressed her lips into a tight line, face hot with embarrassment. She dropped her forehead against his chest. Her soft voice echoed around the luxurious washroom when she whispered, “Don't stop.”
“You are charmingly wicked, my dear,” Astarion said and pushed her hips down onto himself.
Tav cried out in pain when he slipped inside without dedicated lubricant. She whimpered as he continued to push her down, sinking into her tight passage. Astarion lowered them both back into the steaming water.
Tav wrapped her arms tighter around the back of Astarion's neck, her blue eyes squeezed shut. Her breaths were shaking as her body started to adjust to the intrusion. She gasped when he scraped his claws over the base of her tail. Astarion rubbed his wet hand over the sensitive flesh, urging pleased sounds from her.
“Such a good girl,” Astarion's words came out as a sigh of pleasure when he bottomed out inside her. He wrapped his free arm around her waist and pulled her close. Tav lifted her head and met his ruby gaze. Her eyes were wet with the tears she managed to hold back.
Astarion leaned in to whisper into Tav's sharp ear, “Do you want more?”
Tav nodded, pushing her hips down onto him, “Yes. Please.”
“Please what?”
She ground herself against him, rocking her hips slowly. “Please, my lord,” she corrected herself in a breathy moan.
Astarion let out a satisfied hum and started to thrust. He kept his pace even and patient as he worked her open. Tav's entrance was tight around his cock, the friction of her inner walls sliding against him as he moved absolutely divine.
Tav pressed her face into the spot where Astarion's neck and shoulder met, her grip on him tightening as he gently fucked into her. The lack of proper lubricant and minimal preparation made it hurt, but the pain didn't dampen the pleasure. For Tav they were essentially one in the same - the burning ache blended with the tingling goodness perfectly.
Her soft moans grew in intensity when Astarion reached down to press the pads of his index and middle fingers to her clit and rub in short circles. She tried to bounce herself faster in his lap but his arm around her waist kept her trapped at the pace he dictated.
“Why so impatient, darling?” Astarion asked. His fingers moved faster over her clit but he didn't speed his hips, “There's no hurry, slow down and enjoy yourself.”
“It feels good.” Tav's quivering voice was muffled against his skin, “Please go faster…”
Astarion chuckled and kept his thrusts the same. “No,” he teased, “I don't think I will. You'll just have to enjoy what I give you.”
His smug tone wavered when Tav's hole squeezed tighter around him. Tav tilted her head to suck and lick his neck, mouth working over the sensitive twin pin-prick fang scars. The sensation was tingling and warm and felt so much like a loving embrace that it pulled a groan from his lips.
Tav let out a soft moan against the hot flesh when Astarion's thrusts sped. The pain was still as prominent as it had been, but it buzzed right alongside her pleasure. A small smile bowed her lips; for all his boasting and robust posturing, dragging those defenses down until he was putty in her arms was as simple as a kiss to his neck.
She nipped the spot and he let out a shivering, pleasured moan. Though he didn't move his grasp around her waist to allow her free movement, he did push harder into her.
Astarion's fingers pulled from Tav's clit and she whimpered at the loss of sensation. His touch moved back to slide a fingertip around the circumference of her spread hole. “Do you know why I picked this one?” he asked.
“Should there be a reason?” Tav wondered. Which hole they used didn't ultimately matter to her. Anything worked, each was its own unique pleasure. She preferred her pussy, most women probably did, but her ass was okay too.
Astarion's fingertip continued its slow circling, “This one… without the proper gentleness… or the right oils… can hurt a bit.” He tilted his head to look at her, “and you've been quite ill-behaved, my love. I think you deserved a little smack on the hand.”
Tav dropped her eyes, occasionally peeking up at him through her lashes. Astarion held her gaze a moment longer before he moved his touch from her rim and up to tickle the sensitive base of her tail with his nails. Then, finally, he continued, “Do you know why I'm angry?”
“I offended you,” Tav muttered in reply, swallowing the pleased sound that threatened to slip out at the feeling in her tail.
“As rude as that was, no,” he replied. Astarion used the arm around her waist to pull her down flush against himself. He pressed his hips hard against her, pushing himself deep, then stopped his movements. Tav gasped, back arching at his sudden depth. Both her holes clenched, the front woefully empty, the back wonderfully full. Astarion stopped touching her tail and grabbed her firmly by the jaw. He turned her face to meet his hard glare, “You were hurting, and you didn’t tell me. You were hurting yourself, and you didn’t tell me. My treasure. My prize. My bride-to-be.”
“I-”
“Ssh, no speaking. Listen. Do you understand?”
Tav nodded.
“What would I have done if you kept this up? If I didn't catch it in time?” A moment. Tav remained quiet. Astarion approved of her obedience and continued, “You could have died. You could die without me. I wouldn't have been there to raise you.
“You would be gone. Forever,” he said, his usually smooth tone cracking on the final word.
Tav blinked. She hadn't considered that. She hadn't considered the potential effects of her behavior on him at all. She'd compartmentalized the two completely, without even noticing she was doing it. Tav touched her lips and gazed at him pleadingly.
“Speak.”
“I'm sorry, I didn't think… I didn't think about it. I'm so sorry,” she confessed.
“Don't you understand how important you are to me?”
“I'm so sorry,” Tav repeated, guilty tears breaking.
Astarion resumed his thrusts and gave a soft chuckle at the sound of Tav trying to cry and moan at the same time. “I'll help you,” he said.
“What?” she whimpered through her tears.
His fingers returned to rubbing her clit, “What did you call it? Coaching? I'll do it for you. I would do anything to make you happy, darling. Even if it hurts.”
Tav pressed her head against his chest, eyes glazed over from that perfect blend of pleasure and pain in her ass. “Thank you,” she gasped, “Thank you so much, Astarion. You're so good to me.”
“You're not long for this world anyway,” Astarion said. “So I'll help you carve out whatever you think your perfection looks like. And if - when - your life begins to wane, I'll be there to take the rest of you. I'll taste you, and then you'll taste me, and you will rise as my eternally, effortlessly perfect consort. The most distinguished trophy on my arm. The brightest gem in my crown.”
He pushed two fingers into her pussy and used his thumb to rub her clit instead. Tav gripped his shoulders harder, eyes squeezing shut. Astarion released a soft moan when she clenched around his cock and fingers. He reveled in her shivers, loved the honey sweet sounds she always made when she came. Astarion let out a blissful sigh - admiring his own skill, pleased to see Tav lost in the rhapsody he gifted her.
He would soon be blessed to give her this pleasure for the rest of time. The thought made him shiver, thrust faster, curl his fingers inside of her to feel the perfect tightness of her release around his cock again. Astarion let out a chuckle when she whimpered, rocking her hips down to meet his pushes, then tensed.
“Enjoying yourself, sweetness?” he asked and Tav nodded enthusiastically. “Mmm, your pleasure is absolutely delicious.”
Tav tilted her head, exposing her already bite-bruised neck. He didn't need to assess her enjoyment of his fangs, she made it abundantly clear the first time he drank from her. She had allowed him to unthinkingly drain her to death without a single protest.
Astarion bit her. Tav cried out as she peaked, squeezing so deliciously around him as hot blood gushed over his tongue. His blissful moans were muffled against her skin when he followed her over the edge. Astarion's cock throbbed and his release poured into her. Electric pleasure ran up his spine as he pumped into her, trying to draw out Tav's orgasm.
Finally his movements slowed, stopped. Astarion basked in his afterglow for a moment, then turned his attention to his quivering lover. He kissed the crown of her head and murmured, “My good girl. My lovely, sweet treasure…”
Tav waited to catch her breath, forehead still resting against Astarion's chest. A spell of quiet broken only by the sounds of water settled over them. Tav lifted her head to meet Astarion's gaze.
“May I have a kiss?”
“May you have a kiss what…?”
“May I have a kiss, my lord.”
“Of course, darling,” Astarion purred and pressed their lips softly together.

Dehlia's Saturday Matinee
Do you remember when Dehlia's chapter collages were pastels? When they were soft and matched the colors of flowers? Do you remember when Dehlia's chapter headings were so different from Enver's? When Enver's were dark and red and violence? When the titles were danger and warnings?
They were happy.
So, so, happy. And she loved getting to spend her birthday back at home with her dads. She loved getting to have her own space to stay awake until all hours practicing her lines and putting them to music. She loved to have surprise deliveries to her door — the apartment or the dressing room or the front door of her dads' — when he couldn't be there. And she loved to be surprised when he could be there. When he'd rent out the entire theater because he missed every showing for a play, just so he could see her on stage. When he'd show up at her door in the middle of the night, all chocolate sweetness and longing kisses and soft moans. When he'd show up at a rehearsal with gifts for her and the cast and the crew. When he'd sponsor trips for the school to come see her show and walk in, carrying little Mol or Silfy on his shoulders. When he'd stay until morning just to make her breakfast before he had to rush off to work.
He was so busy at work. Something had happened that week. The same week that Sazza… the same week that Arka… she couldn't think about it. Couldn't put things into their proper context. When she'd started having nightmares, things that left her standing in the middle of rooms she hadn't fallen asleep in, Fell had started giving her sleeping pills. She was still groggy during the day when she had to take them. But it was better than waking up standing in broken glass.
Something had happened at Absolute Coffee that week. Something that kept Enver in the office. He said that big things were happening. Big moves. That he would be ready to share soon. Just not yet. Just not until things were set up properly. Until he knew she would be safe from people like that woman. She was pretty sure he was talking about Arka. But sometimes she remembered pale skin and paler hair in the elevator with him. And sometimes she thought he might have been talking about Sazza. And sometimes… rarely… she had the strangest feeling that he was talking about her mother. He said it in much the same way that Daddy Din would swear that woman would never hurt their family again.
So she saw him less. And when she did see him he was busy. And when he was busy, he didn't have time for her insecurities. Or her worries. Or her fears.
It wasn't long before she realized they were fighting or fucking every time they saw each other.
It wasn't long until he said something that broke her heart.
